What does this mean for the Step Community? 🥭 1) Steppers can now collateralize their stepSOL holdings for loans while continuing to earn staking yield (support for RO airdrops to depositors coming soon) 2) stepSOL is immediately available for leveraged stake looping through Mango's other product Yield.Fan (formerly known as Mango Boost!) 3) Since the launch of stepSOL we've been doing all STEP token buybacks by swapping through stepSOL, primarily on Jupiter. We intend to move this over to Mango's CLOB once the stepSOL/STEP market is approved in the coming days. The idea behind using stepSOL for buybacks is: - Convert protocol revenue from USDC to SOL - Use that SOL to mint new stepSOL - Trade that stepSOL for STEP, casting it into the open markets to forever circulate between arb bots, traders and LPs. All the while it continues to earn revenue for the validator, 100% of which going towards token buybacks for STEP holders FYI: STEP is also listed as a collateralized asset on Mango, with available 66% LTV if any STEP holders need access to collateral. What is Mango Markets?
Mango Markets is an open-source platform for lending, borrowing, swapping, and leverage-trading tokens through a powerful risk engine. It integrates with @openbookdex for spot margin trading and uses its own order book for perpetual futures. The platform is governed by MNGO token holders via the Mango DAO.
What problems does Mango Markets solve?
In addition to being completely open-source, Mango Markets fosters community-driven development. The Mango DAO frequently offers grants for developers to enhance the platform. The Mango ecosystem is dedicated to expanding DeFi on Solana through education, projects like @yieldfan, and a new platform expected to launch during Breakpoint.
What can we expect from mangoSOL?
Since 2022, Mango has been operating a Solana Validator and is committed to developing around mangoSOL and LSTs more broadly. We recently rebranded Yieldfan, our platform dedicated to yield-bearing tokens, which allows users to add leverage seamlessly and effortlessly to their favorite LSTs. We believe in collective success, which drives our ongoing integrations and strong relationships with all LSTs.
