I thought you’re supposed to be praying while fasting. Why are people making content to show us how hunger wants to kill them? What exactly is the purpose of the fast and responsibility during the fast?

I don’t understand how Muslims fast. Even most Christians are guilty of this. What you fast, you are supposed to separate yourself from any distraction. You are supposed to fast from food, social media and anything that will distract you. When you are fasting, you ought to pray(and pray sensibly especially when you are in a work environment)

Islam is a religion of hypocrisy, they eat by 5 am then claim that they are fasting. Honestly, I agree with you. It feels like people have forgotten the assignment. The whole point of fasting is to detach from worldly needs... including food and the need for attention... to focus entirely on our relationship with God. The hunger pangs are supposed to be a private struggle between you and your faith, not a public plea for sympathy or views. It feels like people are more worried about documenting the 'struggle' for content than they are about actually praying.
