🚨 Pep Guardiola on Nico O'Reilly scoring against Chelsea and netting 6 goals in his last 8 games as a full-back: “I have managed Dani Alves, Philipp Lahm, and João Cancelo. They were incredible, top, top players. But what Nico is doing right now? I cannot explain it. He is a full-back, yet he plays with the penalty box instinct of a £150 million striker. Six goals in eight games... this is simply not normal. The match against Chelsea was so complicated, they defended so deep, and suddenly he ignores all my tactical instructions, runs into the box like a number nine, and wins us the game. I looked at my staff on the bench and said, 'What am I supposed to teach this boy?' The media always wants to talk about Haaland and Cherki, but when the team is suffering and we need a miracle, it is a young defender who is carrying us on his back. I am completely in love with him. I am so, so happy. More than you believe.”

Hi @SkySportsPL, thanks for today’s unbiased commentary from Don Goodman. Who’s in for the Brighton game next week? Glenn Murray? Bobby Zamora? Fatboy Slim?

Iraola is better than Arteta, no matter how you want to look at it. Bro, he went to Cyprus to win the cup. He went to Mirandes in Spain Segunda division and got to semi finals of Copa Del Rey, go and look at all the La Liga teams he beat. He promoted Rayo Vallecano from Segunda to La Liga This guy has worked his way to the top, right from the trenches of Cyprus, not that his first job was in a big club with 7 years patience and a billion pounds to work with. He’s about to take Bournemouth to Europe for the first time in their history, and I hope he will. He also sold top players like Semenyo, Huijsen, Zabarnyi, Solanke, and many more, but his style of football remained the same. What a guy! On a 12 game-unbeaten streak with fucking Bournemouth, you can clearly see they’re a well-coached team. He did this last season also👇🏽 2-0 Mikel Arteta 2-1 Pep Guardiola. 1-0 Ange Postecoglou. 3-0 Ruben Amorim. 2-2 Enzo Maresca. 4-1 Eddie Howe. 5-0 Nuno Espirito Santo. Crazy guy!!!! I wish him luck. Listen to his players talk about him also, his philosophies are crazy. There is a style, which is what I criticise Arteta for, you can’t have a billion-pound players and not have a style, no ideology, if there is, we seldom see it, he might end up winning the league but he’s just privileged to, with all the patience from the club and money involved. These guys are way better.

Tactically and managerially, Andoni Iraola is simply ahead of Mikel Arteta. Iraola’s sides play with a clearer identity: aggressive pressing, structured transitions, and adaptable game plans that don't collapse when Plan A fails. He's shown at Bournemouth (and previously at Rayo Vallecano) that he can compete with top teams using fewer resources, better organisation, and braver football. Arteta, for all his structure and defensive solidity, struggles to unlock deep blocks without relying on set‑pieces/individual brilliance. His in‑game management is reactive, and his attacking patterns can become predictable. If you're building a team to win consistently, play attractive football, and actually improve players in every phase, right now, Iraola is the better manager. Plain and simple.

🚨🗣️ TV commentator: "Arsenal don’t play football. They play a different sport. Young fans don’t switch on the TV to watch Arsenal; they want to watch football." "Set-piece goals, zero creativity, fouls and time-wasting when they’re in the lead. These players have been brainwashed into playing a different sport."

On this day last year, Declan Rice scored two free kicks against Real Madrid and was being compared to David Beckham, Juninho and Andrea Pirlo by Arsenal fans. He hasn’t scored a free kick since.
