Turning on 100mph Duran fastballs and hammering 98 from Luzardo there was just no room for him for this old, washed up player on this Pirates team. We needed Billy Cook instead.
@rtx_tyler@1letsgopens87@Wins_Williams They couldn’t have paid $1 million to McCutchen, number one. Number two is that he isn’t a good player anymore. And number three, you guys don’t seriously think that Ozuna has been benched, do you?
@FrankNepa@Wins_Williams I’m talking about Ozuna being benched who we signed for 12 million. And he said he would’ve came back but pirates didn’t reach out at all. He said himself he didn’t even expect to play this year after not getting a contract from the pirates
@1letsgopens87@Wins_Williams Sign McCutchen earlier, you mean? They didn’t want to. And he wouldn’t have signed for a million dollars at that point either. And who was benched? Who are you talking about?
@FrankNepa@Wins_Williams They could’ve had there eyes set on Ozuna earlier and saved payroll for the Ozuna signing instead of pursuing other free agents
@1letsgopens87@Wins_Williams Well, Chapman is another matter. But you suggested it would have been better to sign McCutchen instead of Ozuna bc it would have been cheaper and the money could have been used on other guys. But when I pointed out that it was late and no FAs were left, you changed the subject.
@FrankNepa@Wins_Williams I wouldn’t know cause I’m not Ben cherington but the money could’ve been spent else where. If we kept Chapman from two years ago that would’ve been better considering he’s the best reliever in baseball
@1letsgopens87@Wins_Williams Ozuna signed with the Pirates on February 16 just before the start of spring training. Which player or players did they want to sign after that but didn’t because they didn’t have enough money?
@Wins_Williams So I guess you’re saying that at the end of the year McCutchen’s numbers will be better than Ozuna’s? Care to make a friendly wager on that?
