The AI did it. You don't seem to understand that it generates case law, citations and parentheticals in the correct citation style and it looks exactly like it could have been written by a lawyer. That is why any lawyer who uses AI needs to be very careful and check every single citation and make sure they are real and that they stand for the proposition they are cited for. The lawyer is 100% responsible and risks severe sanctions at the least for such grossly negligent conduct. If you can prove she knew it was all fake, then that is obviously even worse and would definitely justify disbaarment.
