Daice stepped into Monday night’s matchup against Morningside needing just eight points to reach 1,000 in a Wolfpack uniform. It didn’t take long. Less than 10 minutes in, the milestone was history — and Daice was dominant the rest of the night.

📷Gilbert White Jr. Commits to the Pack📷 The Four Winds Wolfpack continue to build momentum heading into their second season, and their latest addition is another big one. Rapid City Central’s standout guard, Gilbert White Jr., has officially committed to join the Wolfpack. White Jr. proved himself as one of the most dominant players in South Dakota during his senior season. He led all Class AA schools in scoring, averaging 21.8 points, 6 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game, while consistently delivering in high-pressure moments. His performance earned him First Team All-State honors, a spot as a South Dakota Mr. Basketball finalist, and invitations to both the South Dakota All-Star Game and the Lakota All-Star Game. While his elite athleticism often grabs headlines, it’s his skill and creativity with the ball in his hands that truly set him apart. White Jr. is a crafty guard with exceptional handles, a quick first step, and the ability to finish from all angles. His scoring versatility — whether pulling up off the dribble, attacking the rim, or creating space against bigger defenders — makes him a matchup nightmare. Add in his defensive instincts and competitiveness, and he’s the type of guard who can control every possession. Head Coach Shaun Little Horn sees Division 1 potential in his newest recruit: “From the moment I watched Gilbert play, I knew he was a future Division 1 player. His athleticism and skill are elite, but it’s his hunger and work ethic that set him apart. Our mission is to develop him into the best version of himself while being part of a championship program and culture. ”

Over the next two weeks, we’ll be rolling out game announcements for both our men’s and women’s teams — and the level of competition is going up. This season, we’re shifting our focus to face fewer tribal colleges and more NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA opponents to elevate our program and push our players to the next level. First wave of announcements: We’re proud to once again take on Air Force Academy Prep, and we’ve added a marquee matchup with Northeastern Junior College (Sterling, CO) — one of the top NJCAA programs in the region. And here’s a fun fact: Northeastern is led by legendary Coach Eddie Trenkle, who once coached a player sent to him by Coach Shaun. That player went on to become an NJCAA All-American, and to this day, Coach Trenkle calls him “the best guard I’ve ever coached.” That connection adds even more intrigue as both coaches will be bringing in rosters of future stars once again. Stay tuned — we’ve got some REALLY high-level opponents to announce soon.

🐺 Wolfpack Player Spotlight: Brenden Marshall 🐺 Not every path is smooth, but some players rise through adversity with character, heart, and selflessness. That’s exactly who Brenden Marshall was for the Wolfpack this season. Brenden had been away from competitive basketball for a while before joining us, and we knew his conditioning would be a work in progress. But just weeks after committing to the team, he had to undergo an emergency appendectomy — a setback that could have ended his season before it began. But Brenden refused to use it as an excuse. Instead, he kept showing up — pushing through recovery, working on his conditioning, and making his presence felt in every possible way. Whether he was the loudest supporter on the bench, directing defensive rotations like an assistant coach, or simply bringing unmatched energy, Brenden found ways to impact every game — long before his legs caught up with his heart. 💬 “Brenden is the ultimate teammate. The surgery set back his progression, and he could have quit — but he didn’t. He found ways to impact every single game until his conditioning caught up. By the end of the season, he was hitting threes, grabbing rebounds, and blocking shots, but his impact on this team was felt long before any of that. He’s the kind of player every championship culture needs.” — Coach Shaun Little Horn Brenden’s story is a reminder: greatness isn’t always measured in stats — sometimes, it’s in how you lift others before you ever take the court.

🐺Wolfpack Player Spotlight: Micah Swallow 🐺 Next up in our Player Spotlight Series is a dominant force on both ends of the court — Micah Swallow. Micah was nothing short of a walking mismatch. He averaged 30.3 points and 15.8 rebounds per game, including six 40-point performances this season. His relentless motor, skillset, and presence set the tone for everything we did. One of the most remarkable things about our record-breaking 32-win season — the most ever by a Tribal College — is that we did it with only three players who had played a full collegiate season. Micah was our most experienced player, and he carried that responsibility like a pro. 💬 “I’ve been fortunate to coach three players who made it to the NBA and another 19 who played overseas. Micah is a pro player. I’ve never coached anyone who could fill up a stat sheet quicker with fewer dribbles. He’s as instinctual a player as you’ll ever see — always in the right spot, always one step ahead. His scoring speaks for itself, but it’s his poise, work ethic, and competitive fire that truly separate him.” — Coach Shaun Little Horn Micah didn’t say much — he let his game speak. With his quiet confidence, toughness, and elite instincts, he gave the Wolfpack a steady force we could count on night after night. Stay locked in as we continue to spotlight the Wolves behind the wins.

🐺Wolfpack Player Spotlight: Wakiyan Cuny 🐺 We’re launching our Player Spotlight Series, Up first is a freshman who made a big impact on and off the court — Wakiyan Cuny. Wakiyan entered the season with natural talent, but what set him apart was his willingness to grow. As the year went on, he embraced the challenge of becoming a true college point guard. With so much talent around him, we needed a player who would focus on getting everyone else going — and Wakiyan became that player. 💬“I’m so proud of his growth off the court as a man, and on the court as a selfless player and leader. Wakiyan played well early in the season just because he was talented. However, once he locked in and made the decision to grow as a college point guard, his play opened up everything else for the team.” — Coach Shaun Little Horn Once he moved into the starting lineup, the Wolfpack’s scoring jumped from 91 points per game to 107. As a result, Wakiyan was selected to represent the Pack in the Lakota All-Star Game — a well-earned honor for a player who made everyone around him better. Stay tuned as we continue to spotlight the Wolves behind the wins

🔥 The LaVar Ball You Don’t Know 🔥 Let me introduce you to the real LaVar Ball—not the version the media tried to sell you, but the one I got to know personally. As many of you know, I coach a tribal college basketball team. Heading into this season, a friend encouraged me to have our program join the Big Baller Brand family. I’ll admit, I was a little skeptical at first—but Triple B took incredible care of our team and our players. Now, as Lakota people, we believe the richest among us are those who give the most—not those who keep the most. That’s our definition of wealth. But we’re not blind to the financial challenges our community faces either. LaVar could’ve stopped at the basics. He already made sure we had top-tier uniforms, warm-ups, travel gear—you name it. But a few days ago, BBB flew me out to his home and surprised us by blessing our community with nearly $500,000 in Big Baller Brand gear, including over 1,200 pairs of shoes. No press release. No cameras. They didn’t want recognition—they just wanted to show love. LaVar didn’t just open his home to me while I was there—he got up early to cook breakfast for us, took us out to eat, and everywhere we went, people stopped him for pictures. And he never rushed anyone. He took time with every single person, connecting with them and encouraging their kids. Say what you want, but I got to see the heart of a man who leads with generosity, confidence, and love. And for that, I’ll always be grateful.

🐺 Run with the Pack: It’s More Than a System, It’s a Mindset 🐺 The Four Winds Wolfpack have ran their record to 19-3 and are averaging 105.1 PPG — the highest in Tribal College basketball — and it’s not just because of a system. It’s a mindset. This team is built on the principle that “when one eats, we all eat”. We’re a unit, and every player plays a part in our success. With 8 players averaging double figures, it’s clear that this is a collective effort. Whether it’s fast breaks, precise passes, or relentless defense leading to offensive opportunities, we’re all in it together. Each player’s contribution is crucial, and no one is left behind in our pursuit of excellence. In the last 14 games, we’ve averaged 113.1 PPG, and it’s a reflection of our shared vision and commitment to playing selfless basketball. We don’t just score points, we hunt together as a team. This is Wolfpack basketball: unselfish, unstoppable, and united. This pack moves as one.

🏀 Lakota Homegrown: The Wolfpack are making history! 🏀 In our inaugural season, the Wolfpack are proving that greatness grows right here at home. With a 15-4 record, we’re showing the world what it means to be LAKOTA STRONG. Here’s what makes us different: ⚡ Scoring 101.9 PPG while holding teams to 79.9 PPG 🔥 +22 Point Margin per game 📈 Over the last 14 games: 13-1 record, scoring 109 PPG and holding opponents to 77.1 PPG, with a commanding +31.9 Point Margin of Victory! 🐺 WE RUN AS A PACK 🐺 When one of us eats, we ALL eat. This is family. This is Wolfpack basketball. 💪🏽💯 💥 8 Players Averaging Double Figures — Everyone's a threat. Everyone’s a problem. 🔥 7 Games where EVERY player scored — No one gets left behind. When one rises, we all rise. This is what it means to be a Wolfpack. We don't rely on one player — we rely on each other. No selfish play. No weak links. Just a PACK that moves as ONE 🌍 THE PACK TRAVELS FAR AND WIDE 🌍 We're not even to the halfway point of the season and we have already traveled 9,500 miles across the country, showing that distance means nothing to a team with purpose. 🛣️ Games Played In: • Colorado • Kansas • Montana • Nebraska • North Dakota • South Dakota • Washington • Wyoming

The Wolfpack men's basketball team played and won the Thorpes Men's Basketball Fundraiser Tournament in Pine Ridge, SD this past weekend. While the purpose was the extra conditioning and to support our local high school. We're most proud that after winning the $1000 1st place prize, the Wolfpack team donated it back to the program and coach.
