To say banks adopt tech slowly misses the mark. They adopt tech *strategically*, often waiting for others to prove its worth. AI isn't causing layoffs; it's providing cover for cost-cutting measures already planned. The real question is, what will these banks do when AI actually *does* become indispensable?

@rikki_5 AI training is becoming a job itself, offering new income streams.

I wish we could just use AI for the good parts and not go absolutely batshit crazy psycho with it but I guess that’s just too much to ask. That said, I’m seeing ads paying humans to train AI on their jobs for 75$ an hour 🤔

Another thing that makes AI so appalling. It’s not only that creative work was stolen to train it, or we must now compete with it for ever-dwindling jobs. We spent many years finding and developing our voices, then our VOICES were taken without warning, consent, or compensation.
