They deleted entire Rajput History from the NCERT books. They had entire section on Maratha history. Imagine cadet branch of Marathas in Thanjavur got more attention than Maharana Pratap and entire Rajput history combined. Yet he is whining. Caste kanging is the curse on this country.

According to historical records detailing the disposition of the Jangaldesh territory in Late 15th Century, there were seven Jat cantons consisting of 2,200 villages in total. The Jats are traditionally believed to have controlled this region from the 4th to the 15th century. A list of these cantons, along with their village counts and respective districts, is provided below.
A major phase of Jat migration into adjoining regions began in the 11th century and continued in subsequent centuries. This wave pushed northward into Punjab via Malwa and Haryana, leading to the establishment of fortified Jat settlements.
Note: Sohua, also considered one of the cantons, is missing from the list.

The historical Bikaner region in western India was originally known as Jangaldesh (or Jangaldesa) and was considered the nucleus of the Jat people. Within this territory, the Jats lived as semi-autonomous tribes, ruled by their own chiefs and largely governed by their customary laws. They formed territorial cantons that bore the name of the clan, which were further subdivided into districts. As per historical records, the region was held by confederacies of seven distinct Jat clans for many centuries. As they expanded and settled in new regions like Punjab, Haryana and Western UP, they successfully carried these democratic institutions with them, most notably the panchayat system (an elected body of elders to which they pledged allegiance). Because of this independence and decentralized structure, every Jat village essentially operated as a “small republic.”

Historically, all Jat regions were `Zor Talab` and have a long record of fierce resistance against revenue collection across different ruling eras. A specific and notable incident of tax resistance occurred in Sikar State in Rajasthan in the 1940s, where thousands of armed Jats attacked British colonial officials who were attempting to collect land revenue. In 1824, the Jats of Rohtak led a major armed revolt against the British against forced revenue collection. Malwa Jats around Bhawanigarh were quite notorious for resisting the pro British Sikh princely state of Patiala, which led incursions into Jat villages for land settlement and to extract revenue. At one point, Jats were hanged in wells in villages around to set a precedent.
After these rebellions, the British started creating a class divide among the Jats by empowering loyalist Jats with more land grants, while forcibly taking over and displacing others (sometimes entire villages), leading to economic distress within the community, which earlier used to share outputs from shared landholdings of ancestral shares instead of private ownership of parcels.
