But I never let those words decide who I am.”
I was born with an extremely rare disease—so rare that there are only a handful of cases in the world. My body cannot gain weight, and my face doesn’t fit what people consider “normal.”
But the greatest pain came when I was 17.
One day, I found a video online.
Someone had used my image to mock me.
Millions of people had watched it.
And the comments were like punches: they laughed at my face, my body, and some even wrote that it would have been better if I had never been born.
For days, I stayed locked in my room.
I thought my life was over.
Then one day, in front of the mirror, I asked myself a question:
“What if I could turn all of this into something bigger?
What if my voice became stronger than the bullying?”
That’s when it all began.
I started speaking. Telling my story.
Getting on stages, writing.
Sharing not my pain, but my courage.
I discovered that my true strength wasn’t in my appearance,
but in the fire that grew inside me every time someone tried to extinguish it.
Today, I’ve spoken in front of thousands of people.
I’ve written books. Appeared on television.
But the most important thing is this:
I’ve helped others to look at themselves with love,
to not let themselves be defined by what others say.
Because I learned something fundamental:
Value doesn’t come from a screen.
It doesn’t come from cruel comments.
Value is what you choose.
Every day.
Through what you build from pain.
You are not what others see.
You are what you choose to become.
