There is a threat for severe thunderstorms today, mainly along a cold front this evening into the overnight hours. The highest threat for severe weather will be at night, so make sure you have warning sources that will wake you up!

Severe thunderstorms capable of producing a few tornadoes appear probable across parts of eastern Iowa, northern Illinois, and southern Wisconsin this afternoon. Additionally, damaging thunderstorm winds will be possible from eastern Iowa northeast into Michigan. Visit weather.gov for the latest.

Liftoff. The Artemis II mission launched from @NASAKennedy at 6:35pm ET (2235 UTC), propelling four astronauts on a journey around the Moon. Artemis II will pave the way for future Moon landings, as well as the next giant leap — astronauts on Mars.

Thunderstorms are expected to become more widespread late this evening through the overnight hours, mainly along/north of I-70. Locally heavy rainfall and hail up to the size of quarters are the main threats. #stlwx #mowx #ilwx #midmowx
