@AnnaMariaPsych It’s such a brutal and disheartening process at times. I recall being where you are, the year before I got on. It was really hard. But it’ll pass quickly. Feel free to message me during application/interview season if you need any advice or help! Esp if applying Lancs again 🙌

Received my final rejection today from the DClinPsy. Feeling slightly annoyed I have “que sera sera” tattooed and struggling to remind myself of the meaning behind it! What is meant for me, will not miss me. The show must go on, until next year DClinPsy🫡👩🏽‍⚕️🤍🕊️ #dclinpsy

Interview season = finished! Goodluck to everybody navigating their DClinPsy journey- a weird sense of relief and anxiety until the results come April. Ready to enjoy Easter without the reoccurring nightmares of oversharing in interviews 🥲🐣

Biggest advice I would give trainee clinical psychologists or those aspiring/about to get on to courses... Be in therapy (whatever that looks like for you). Dclinpsy courses will trigger and create traumatic experiences where you will feel unsafe and uncomfortable. They will mimic situations you have been in where you felt overwhelmed and traumatised. You will bring your own "stuff" to the course; you may overcompensate, avoid or surrender (schema model idea). Give yourself the opportunity to explore and heal and think how your life has impacted how you respond to situations! DCLINPSY COURSES!! Make this a priority for trainees joining courses. Scaffold this process. I actually think this is one way for there to be less issues occurring on courses. Could this be standardised in to programmes? Whilst this won't address all the issues that arise, I think it will help to alleviate the severity and magnitude. It still baffles me how we expect people to come to us for guidance and support and yet there aren't processes in place to ensure that we also seek guidance and support beyond supervision! #dclinpsy #clinicalpsychology #clinicalpsychologist
