@AUG_ChrisGay That stainless steel tower left of 18 green will always stay in my Masters memories. Never forget the security guy giving me the nod "yes" my first year when I showed him my credential with a "can I go up there?" look. Pretty sure it was for print only, but he obliged a rookie.

It was special climbing the press tower at 18 to see the action up close in the early 2000s - unsure exactly when they were removed. I’m sure there was some risk management assessment involved in removing the towers.

Miss the days when announcers were in towers, like Vern, calling the action in Augusta. Now they're removed from the action sitting in Butler Cabin, trucks or in the broadcast village across the street. SVP & Curtis Strange sound canned with them not on the course. @TheMasters

Not that it matters in the big scheme of things at all, but it looks like Tiger Woods will not be in Augusta next week in any capacity. He was scheduled to help unveil his short course design at "The Patch", all of which looks phenomenal after the ANGC renovations.
