sooooooo apparently my boss follows me on Twitter. he was waiting for me at my desk and now I have to spend the whole day cleaning the utility rooms with no PC. :( (at least I managed to get Twitter working on the old security control system. had to install a bunch of updates)

If this gets 100 RTs I'll deploy a non-peer-reviewed change to our core routers at 5pm this Friday

My boss disabled my LDAP account during the change freeze due to last year's misunderstanding. That's okay though, there's only a few tiny changes I need to make and I found the username & password for the firewalls in an old text file. Always keep backups!

Ugh I forgot about the holiday change freeze next week. Now I have to go back and mark all these maintenance requests as emergencies. #paperwork

My boss saw the pile of servers I took apart and this morning and asked me if my resume was up to date. I totally forgot to put this on there! He's always looking out for me. 😃

Phew! It took all day but I personally disassembled every one of our servers to check for malicious chips. Can't be too careful after the Supermicro news. Anyway, I'm beat. Gonna call it a night and get to work putting everything back together first thing tomorrow.

Why do people say naming things is hard? Names are everywhere! All my routers are named after Simpsons characters, and firewalls are zodiac signs (except I have Aquarius1 and Aquarius2 because there are 13). Also you can use foods.
