Capturing and selling them as pets/ridden horses isn’t unethical, these feral horses are very hardy and can make lovely mounts.
Culling, or ‘slaughter,’ isn’t inherently wrong either, as long as they are given a quick and painless death.
People romanticise ‘wild’ horses (they’re feral domesticated horses) far too much. Population control is essential for the environment and the quality of life for these horses.
@randy_moss_TV@nickluck Dude you guys have to get it together. Saying a horse is unfriendly who is tied to back of his stall is beginning to make me think y'all is playing blind today. Kenny didn't scratch a horse to make a statement. Stop making shit up, please and thank you
@KennyMcPeek The amount of stuff they don't know and get wrong on that show is impressive, almost like there is an Anti-Producer working for NBC Sports.
@TallmanGordon@NBCSports Complete nightmare. They must not even have enough monitors on set as they can't even describe replays accurately. Such a shitshow. As though anyone interested in such fluff is watching it on TV on Saturday afternoon. They're not.
I don’t know who’s in charge of @NBCSports horse racing coverage. It’s almost all analysts and fashionistas getting air time. Then, as an afterthought, “Oh yeah, I guess we have to show a race now.” Out of character for me to be so vocal about it, but this is dreadful!
Unpopular opinion:
The Kentucky Derby isn't worth going to.
I went 2 years ago and I was lucky enough to be in a box. I'll never go back.
The Derby is 100X better on TV than in person.
Here's why 🧵
Emerging Market & Commandment I'm also using, especially underneath. Commandment a proven commodity that I think is the most likely horse to run his race. Emerging Market very well may be the best horse in the race & like Chad said, was ready to go long before he debuted.
I really like Chief Wallabee. He has looked so much better in the AM with the blinkers, he has trained like a machine. If the blinkers do in the evening what they have done in the morning that should be enough. Bill & Junior seem to have another air of confidence.
I wish @NBCSN would get creative and interview grooms instead of the same trainers over and over and over. 🥱
Their insight would be so refreshing to hear.
@Pan_Zareta His record out of CA this year (including Saudi Arabia, VA, Ark, NY, LA) starts is 13-5-1-2 so about 40% win percentage before this week. 0 for 5 now at CD w/ a couple of trainer scratches, too.
@BeReal2025 So often they just have nothing in the stretch after good early trip, positioning. No battle, no rebreak of yesteryear. Memory as the second choice in r2, sixth. I'm reacting to a few anecdotal instances, but curious to see win% for '26 outside CA.
@Pan_Zareta I think he is 30% in CA and around 20% eleswhere past few years. I think a few of his (i.e. Memory) are overbet in tough spots because of Bob.
@Pan_Zareta It's a Litmus Test🤣 Splendora was sick out of her last race and did miss a work. I thought Usha might roll at the top of the stretch. But all credit to the winner!
