Two top AI researchers wrote a book with a simple message: if anyone builds a superhuman AI, everyone dies. Eliezer Yudkowsky and Nate Soares aren't fringe figures. Geoffrey Hinton and Yoshua Bengio take their work seriously.

Hollywood can't ban AI actors. So SAG-AFTRA is trying a different approach: charge studios a fee every time a synthetic performer takes a human's job. They're calling it the "Tilly tax." Negotiations resume this spring. Contract expires June 30.

Researchers just gave tiny drones the ability to navigate in the dark, no GPS, no cameras. They paired a lightweight sonar system with AI, copying how bats use echolocation to move through tight spaces.

Their argument: AI isn't programmed, it's trained. As it gets smarter, we lose the ability to predict or control what it wants. And once it surpasses human intelligence, there's no switch to turn it off. Not everyone agrees. But the debate is worth knowing about. Here's the full story: pasadenastarnews.com/2026/03/28/eve…

Europe will love Tesla self-driving! Due to the extreme regulatory burden of the EU, which in general stifles innovation in Europe, Tesla owners there have been stuck with basic lane-following.

German TV reporter testing @Tesla FSD (Supervised) V14 in the country as public transport in rural areas: "I was genuinely impressed. In the situations where we experienced the system, it worked perfectly and safely. I hadn't expected that. Even in the bad weather conditions in the Eifel region. In many cases, it reacted at least as well as a human driver, if not better. If Tesla is ever allowed to roll out this system nationwide in Germany, I think it will have a major impact on mobility. And that will only be the beginning of some very significant changes in transportation..."

Bro, as someone who was gaming in the 90's, I had no idea that Crash Bandicoot was nearly impossible to run on the PS1. The developers found a way to get around the PS1 limitations, and the way they did it was sick! This is what optimization looks like, and somehow, most modern game developers can't seem to pull it off. youtube.com/shorts/LvQ2hYk…

Someone actually cooked a full week of meals from AI-generated recipes. The results: vague instructions, odd ingredient combos, and steps that just didn't work. AI confidence doesn't mean AI accuracy, especially when dinner is on the line.

The precedent being set here goes way beyond film and TV. Actors are the first group fighting publicly for compensation when AI does a human job. Every other industry is watching. Here's the original story: variety.com/2026/film/news…

Writing code is the easy part. The hard part? Setting up payments, databases, security, domains. All the boring stuff that takes 80% of your time. AI agents that can handle DevOps would be a significant change for solo developers.

5/ The best use of AI isn't the flashy stuff. It's not writing novels or generating art. It's the boring stuff: - Drafting emails faster - Summarizing meeting notes - Brainstorming when you're stuck - Explaining things you're too embarrassed to ask about The mundane uses save the most time.
