Crypto is not just a ledger of transactions---it’s a ledger of truth and trust. That’s what makes Bitcoin valuable. For Bitcoin this requires burning energy on random number guessing. What if we could instead leverage massive, real-world computation to achieve the same level of security? This has been an outstanding open problem for more than 30 years in academia, and since the emergence of blockchains in industry. Last year, we proposed the first solution (eprint.iacr.org/2025/685). Our mathematical breakthrough suggests piggy-backing on matrix multiplications, the native operation of GPUs that power the AI revolution, from pre-training, post-training, to inference. The potential applications are endless: improving the unit-economics of LLMs, shifting AI-generated wealth back to users, and enabling new primitives such as settlement and even UBI systems for AI agents. Since then, we've worked hard turning the math into a fully operational system. From the algebra and CUDA kernels to a working L1 blockchain and a production LLM inference pipeline implementing this “2-for-1” technology. Today, we’re excited to share that the @prlnet is ready, and will soon enable serving SoTA LLMs while mining the blockchain at negligible additional cost. A couple years ago I was talking to my brother who is an even bigger gamer than me. I asked him what he wanted and he said he just wanted better games and that it was something money couldn’t buy. His answer stuck with me for a long time because he was right that you couldn’t just pay more money to buy a better game; you needed real artisans who cared enough about craftsmanship to build them. Of the major studios, who even makes good games still? FromSoft, Larian, GGG, maybe Nintendo, on rare occasion Ubisoft and maybe a few others. Sure there are tons of great indie developers but why are most big corporates producing slop? There was something wrong with the culture. It also got me thinking about what else money couldn’t buy. It certainly can’t buy a better and more functional society. Interestingly money can make society worse as we see with all these paid protesters/agitators but it can’t do the reverse. And so a great culture war has to be fought. From the Twitch river to the Discord sea, gaming will be free. When the younger generations no longer believe their circumstances will be better than the older generations, the inter-generational compact has been broken. Hope has turned into despair. With despair, the allure of communism grows. But this is not the answer. Communism will only create more misery and turmoil. Instead, we must win a culture war and then repair the social fabric. Cultural warfare is preferable to economic and physical warfare. It is far less costly in terms of both lives, physical well-being, and capital. Just look at what’s happening with the government shutdown and all the violence on the streets. So if you are a communist/socialist, put down your arms and pick up your memes. May the best memes win. Also, you guys need to stop corrupting the youth. Normal people do not want to send their son to school only for him to come back a daughter. Choose plowshares over swords or we will all perish.

I got the superb conjunction this morning, Sept 19, of the waning Moon, Venus and Regulus. Though only just as they rose out of eastern clouds. This was from near Tolfield, Alberta. Details in the Alt Text. @twanight
