@Vis753126575314 I think the map also implies this with the inclusion of E-V13. A Goth carrying this likely wouldn’t have the same genetic profile of when they were back in Poland.
English

@Vis753126575314 I’m not suggesting this represents the autosomal profile for these regions, just posting a map I thought was interesting.
English

@Kosmycenan The shapefile for Turkey is kind of messed up, but I can try later. What are the Turkish markers? Q & C?
English

@Celtiberoca I probably should’ve clarified better with my intent on this map. I’m not saying E-V13 is Germanic in origin, but its presence in Spain is likely Germanic mediated
English

@Celtiberoca I included it because it’s been found in visigothic samples, I think it was absent in Spain prior to their arrival.

@Riastrad_42 @Lethescholar I don’t think Caesar had a reason to lie about this, but yeah I agree the term is generally unhelpful considering it could be applied to ancient people spanning from Ireland to Anatolia
English

@Lethescholar Who told us that? was it the greeks and romans by chance? Anyhow, it's a dodgy term all round, as the modern celts are decended from people who were not called celts in ancient times, as that term was reserved for a slightly different grouping of people.
QME

Ancient Irish texts don’t say a single word about Celts. They do talk about the Milesians and the Gaels, though, and trace their ultimate origin back to Scythia—a striking resemblance to the Yamnaya hypothesis.

Ríastrad Enthusiast@Riastrad_42
@Lethescholar @GirlOrk yeah so ancient irish history texts explain how the celts did, infact, come from the west
English

@Riastrad_42 @Lethescholar “All Gaul is divided into three parts, one of which the Belgae inhabit, the Aquitani another, those who in their own language are called Celts, in our Gauls, the third.”
English

@Lethescholar why would they mention celts? that's a greco-roman term
English

@Gargrug @RespectfulMemes No it’s because people who work at the shop like to go home at a decent hour too and they know that their customers will make time to come during their business hours
English

@RespectfulMemes Because the people running society and deciding the hours aren’t the people working those hours or affected by them
English

@A_DancinPenguin @Hogdale_ Astros are historically a cheating and worthless franchise filled with a very mentally ill fanbase

@arctotherium42 The colonial period is likely the culprit imo.
British colonists tended to bring their women with them, but the New Spain male to female ratio was 10:1 and in Brazil it was 100:1

@CapriCaput True West Eurasian people are only people with dark skin

@Michssspp82096 Follow the migration path of Y-DNA lineages. Corsica is unlikely.
