@JoePompliano Is the WC fix a short term move or a move to a permanent natural playing surface?

Mercedes-Benz Stadium is removing its artificial turf to install a natural grass surface ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. When the stadium did this for Premier League teams in 2023, it cost about $300,000. x.com/GAFollowers/st…

BREAKING According to sources, @chaptodd has elected to cook his own wings for #SuperBowlLX. This would seemingly end a long standing trend of going outside the organization when placing his big game order.

Just heard that 49 states have been represented at the ballpark so far this year. Tad disappointing, so I decided to head to Wyoming to find us a @Pelicanbaseball fan.

Looking for some recommendations on baseball movies to watch on the eve of the vote.
Ryan Moore@CaptainRMoore

‼️⚾️ For the last time, I am asking once again for your HELP! Tomorrow is do or die for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. A “Yes” vote keeps the team in town for the next 30 years. A “No” vote would mean the end for the Pelicans. Please do all that you can to attend. Your presence matters. Meeting info below, along with my story on why this matters to me.‼️⚾️ If it wasn’t for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, I would not have my family. Back in 2008, my first year in baseball, I had a meeting with a local business in hopes they would buy some tickets to a game. When I showed up to the meeting “the boss” was running late. While I was waiting, I met Alexandra Gerrits for the first time. She talked about loving baseball and growing up as a Detroit Tigers season ticket holder. I made the best decision of my life and asked her out on a first date to join me at the ballpark for the Pelicans World Series watch party. Four years later we were married. Five years later we welcomed Austin into our life and less than two years later Jackson arrived. Seventeen years later, this Myrtle Beach family of four exists only because of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. And my story is just one of many. Anne and Frosty. Blake and Shannon. Lewis and Jen. And these are also just a couple of examples. The ballpark brought us all together. Without it, all of our lives would be dramatically different. It’s not just marriages and families. Life-long friendships, a staff that truly acts as an extended family. I’m sure I missed many other ballpark made connections so please comment below with yours. We’ve cried tears of joy together. We’ve cried tears of grief together. We’ve fought through adversity together. And through it all, we have stayed together and are better off for it. All because of the special place we call Pelicans Ballpark. Please join me in support of continuing to keep my Pelicans family healthy and growing. A lot of work, from many parties, has been done to get us to tomorrow’s vote. I’m forever indebted and humbled by the support, from so many, through this process. Please keep it going for just a little longer. One way or the other, tomorrow is the finish line. Please join me and hopefully, together, we can celebrate keeping baseball at the beach. MB City Council Meeting Tuesday, June 10th @ 10:00 AM (Arrive early) 1101 N Oak St, MB, SC 29577

Hey @Pelicanbaseball if we get some snow I’m going to need to borrow our knockerballs. I’ve got an idea.
Ed Piotrowski@EdPiotrowski

7:30 AM SATURDAY WINTER WEATHER UPDATE WHAT’S CHANGED? - Not much at all. Forecast models all agree that winter weather is very likely for our area. TIMING -  This is a fast-moving system lasting about 12 hours. It likely arrives late Tuesday afternoon or evening and ends by daybreak Wednesday morning. PRECIPITATION TYPES - Snow and sleet are most likely right now, but freezing rain is possible, especially near the coast. Any sleet and/or freezing rain will depend on whether or not a layer of warm air works in aloft. The GFS model says it will, while the Euro says no, and it’s mainly all snow. It’s a very fine line and depends totally on the track. A slight deviation of 25 miles can mean all snow or a messy mix, significantly reducing snow totals. With that said, it’s increasingly likely several inches of snow will accumulate in parts of the area with the coast having the highest odds of that happening. It's still too soon to talk about specific numbers today, but I plan to put out my first accumulation map on Sunday. IMPACTS - With the ground cold leading up to and during this potential winter weather event, hazardous driving and other disruptions are likely. Any freezing rain would be a big concern and could lead to power outages. Keep in mind that whatever accumulates won't go away quickly since it will still be very cold through Wednesday and Thursday. WHAT COULD CHANGE? I’ll say it again, a lot! We’re still three days out and while the odds are very low we see nothing at all or just plain rain, the zones of snow, sleet and freezing will change. They always do this far out. So, the process of watching the trends continues. I know all the attention is on the potential for snow but please don't let the arctic air catch you off guard. For most of next week, highs will only be in the 30s and lows in the teens and 20s. That kind of cold can burst pipes and strain your heating systems.  Make sure your pets, plants and the elderly are taken care of. FYI - The GFS Ensemble is lower across the board for accumulating snow because it predicts more sleet and freezing rain and less snow. I’ll analyze the new data later this morning and have an update this afternoon.

If you can get to Phoenix go with or without a ticket. With the Fan Fest, open practices, great pep rallies..it’s fun. Tickets are around. Watching at a host bar is a great worst case scenario. Mondays tickets are much easier to come by. #storrsSW

I’m at the womens game. Was told that an email went out at 8:40 that notified everyone that was left that we are out of tickets. I’m sorry we couldn’t take care of everyone. Certainly not our desire to have to tell people no.
