The #Carriproject team had a busy #fieldwork week. We installed bottles and boxes for our #SoilSolution sampling at two of our three Scottish sites and downloaded the first #Water level data. #Tarland #Invercauld #soil #ScienceInAction #AcademicChatter

Past informs the future…colourful mottles depict the history of water, chemical conditions and landscape context in this #riparian UK soil. Together with our biogeochemical analyses and experiments, this helps us predict altered cycles of nutrients with #climatechange

The #CarriProject team finished installation and soil sampling at 2 out of 3 #riparian observation sites in #LakeDistrict. Looking forward to a second visit soon to finish the last installations. Thanks to @ProfPHaygarth @ProfJessDavies for the support and great field assistance.

This new paper shows a need for improving C stock and reactivity estimates in riparian wetlands, across catchments and countries and representing them in scaling frameworks. @CarriProject is tackling this.

Marc from @CarriProject @JamesHuttonInst is today exploring riparian zones in the German Harz mountains with @andreas_musolff @UFZ_de for our future shared fieldwork into #riparian process and #climate change.
