This week I sat down with Kevin Soine, Assistant Baseball Coach and Athletic Operations Coordinator at South Mountain Community College in Phoenix, Arizona. I had a chance to visit South Mountain recently and came away extremely impressed, especially with the coaching staff's focus on player development. In our conversation, Kevin shares his journey from his high school days in Minnesota to his current coaching position in Arizona, including the challenges of transitioning from player to coach. Career .371 hitter for the Cougars in 294 abs. A twitchy, sure-handed outfielder that can run. Leadoff hitter and CFer for us the day he stepped on campus til the day he left. #TGHT

More pitchers need to stick it out at the school they are at. The grass generally isn’t too much greener on the other side unless your situation is truly terrible. Some new pitching coach isn’t your savior, you actually need to look in the mirror and improve yourself. I get it, I transferred twice. (Not by choice) but nothing got better till I put my foot down and decided I was done being bad.
