Solution: stop sending money abroad and stop importing foreign nationals
Dan Neidle@DanNeidle
UK tax is going to be the highest since 1945. But public spending won't increase; in fact most of us will experience a decline in public services. Here's why - in a thread that I'd love to be completely wrong.

My grandfather came to Britain in 1965.
He didn’t speak much English.
He worked night shifts in a factory in Birmingham.
He paid his taxes.
Kept his head down.
Never complained.
His son became a doctor.
His granddaughter is a tech engineer.
His great-grandchildren were born British.
Three generations. Zero crime. Zero benefits fraud. Zero debt to this country.
And still, STILL someone tells us to go home.
Where exactly is home supposed to be?

We’re already breaking records on solar power installations across the UK.
But we’re not slowing down – we're going further and faster.
Solar must now be fitted on new build homes as standard, plug-in solar is rolling out AND we’ve consented the largest UK solar farm ever.
Department for Energy Security and Net Zero@energygovuk
1/2 Here comes the sun! ☀️ In March the UK saw 27,000 solar installations – that’s the highest monthly figure in a decade. And, for the first time, the total installations recorded across the UK has hit two million. That’s clean, homegrown power helping families to weather global energy shocks and bring bills down for good.

@RichardGCorbett Yes. The inflation is not being caused by an overheating economy.

Central banks usually raise interest rates to counter inflation, as this dampens demand and lessens pressure on prices. But now, externally driven higher energy prices are already dampening demand. Raising interest rate rates would help create a recession

NEW
Bank of England holds interest rates at 3.75%, but its chief economist votes for a rise to 4%.
Bank outlines 3 energy shock scenarios, with some rate rises indicated even if global energy prices fall from here.
IF oil prices remain above $120 till year end, AND gas prices rise substantially Banks forecasts point to possibility of rates at 5.25% this year
