I’ve declared a State of Emergency in preparation for the winter storm system expected to impact the state beginning Saturday and continuing through the weekend, possibly into Monday.   Please remain aware of local forecasts and take appropriate precautions ahead of this weekend's storm, as winter weather can change quickly and create hazardous conditions with little notice.  Preparations are already underway by state agencies, and this State of Emergency ensures Team South Carolina is ready to respond and support communities as conditions develop.   Read more: governor.sc.gov/news/2026-01/g…

Carlton Wallace Dixon (45) has been captured in Mooresville, NC, for the June 17, 2024, murder at Ramsey Grove Apartments. Dixon faces charges of Murder and weapons violations. The extradition process with NC is underway. #ChesterSCSheriff
