I think King Charles just gave the US Congress the State of the Union Address they missed out on earlier this year.

I’ve never know such levels of coverage let alone hysteria about any previous council by-elections by the media including the BBC and ITV. Clearly they are determined to influence the results of these elections to the detriment of Labour. Scandalous.

What is really doing great damage to Parliament are the continuing vitriolic comments from the Tories and their allies even though they lost the vote. Unpleasant, undemocratic and bloody awful people. They bayed for the PMs blood and seem incapable of letting go!

Darren Jones telling the HoC this is the EIGHTH time he’s been at the dispatch box to discuss the Mandelson appointment. What a complete waste of Parliamentary time @HoCSpeaker #bbcparliament

After all that hot air being expended on the Mandelson Saga in Parliament the result was, as expected, a huge damp squib. As a taxpayer, via PAYE where I have no choice, and a voter where do I complain to register my anger at the waste of resources, time and Parliamentary Time?

I wonder if the negativity on this platform towards Labour and Keir Starmer is truly understood by those who post such vitriolic, untruthful or twisted comments? Most people don't engage in social media and it's a falsehood to think it is a gauge of public opinion. Doubt it.

Kemi Badenoch is on fire in the House of Commons right now. Barely any Labour interventions… seems like even they are coming to the conclusion that the Prime Minister’s actions are indefensible.

Tories claiming they abolish Stamp Duty in another election post but in the past 50 years since I purchased my first house, I have never managed to afford a property which attracted it!!! Wonder how many working people will really be "beneficiaries" of this magnanimous tax "cut"?

@alexburghart Or perhaps you are more akin to a Dog chasing a Bicycle. If you caught it you'd not be able ride it! Waste of Parliamentary Time and the Public's Time and Resources. Self indulgent nonsense.

The Cabinet Secretary has confirmed to me that she has found no actual record of the PM’s decision to appoint Mandelson EITHER this is another example of a massive cover up … …. OR the basic systems of Government have broken down

BP's Doubled Profits reinforce the view that the Oil Industry has little regard for people or planet in their relentless pursuit of profit. It's money, more then even more money. Why haven't they absorbed the price increases to keep prices for consumers down? Radical Idea!

What's the Tories Objective in seeking to unseat the PM? Is there some deluded idea that in doing so they might cause a General Election? In which case, who do they think would win given their rejection in 2024? No policy reviews, no redirection, just the same as before? Idjits

@PennyMordaunt @adamboultonTABB Utter Tosh. What Political Party would do anything different? Please, stop being disingenuous and playing to the ReformPLC playbook for disrupter Politics. Get back to reality.

Terrible judgment by the Prime Minister tonight. By whipping “House Business” he confirms at least one of two things, and most likely both: that a large number of his MPs are not buying his narrative and/or that he has misled the House. If he has acted in good faith Privileges would clear him. An unnecessary distraction? Not as much as what is now bound to follow. Utter contempt of Parliament including his own MPs.

No Labour MP, unless so far to the left they shouldn't be in the Party, is going to vote to bring down their own Leader because of a campaign by the Opposition, so why is Kemi Badenoch doing it? It's pointless and time consuming nonsense.
