I am sitting in an ER in the epicenter with COVID symptoms being told that I am not able to have the 2 view chest x-ray the doctor ordered so that I do not contaminate the x-ray room and that I am not able to have a COVID test because they are being tightly rationed for patients

Things Covid has proven: 1. The job you were told couldn't be done remotely can be done remotely 2. Many disabled workers could have been working from home, but corporations just didnt want them to. 3. Internet is a utility, not a luxury 4. Universal healthcare is necessary

I don’t think you understand the level of fear disabled and chronically ill people have right now. Not only are you making us sound expendable, but the symptoms of the virus are things we experience on a normal day. Aches, pains, chills...

My school just went full online and I dropped out last month because I was told that I couldn’t go online part time for my disability or care assistant reasons. This is BULLSHIT.

I work at a library and my boss sent out a memo today that if a patron at the library is coughing, or “coughing uncontrollably” that we need to “ask them to leave”. Does this not mean that he’s asking us to kick ppl out who “seem sick”? #cornavirus #disabledtwitter #help

I hate it when architects/designers say that accessibility makes buildings ugly. It’s like you think disability inherently makes things ugly or less appealing and rather than develop designs that combat stereotypes you stick with the status quo and call yourselves visionary.

I told my P.E. Teacher I couldn’t do push-ups because I had RA and my arms hurt and she made me do them anyway. She watched me struggle in pain then finally said “enough” and let me stop. #DiaryOfADisabledKid

You don't have to love your disability. It's also perfectly fine and your right to love your disability. Disabilities come in an immeasurable number of forms. Some of us are truly suffering bc of the diagnosis that makes us disabled. You ain't got to love being sick. #thread

The greatest lie society ever sold you is the idea that accessibility can’t be used by everyone.

Black history month will never not be slightly painful for black disabled people as we watch our heros be celebrated while their disabilities are erased. Again.
