Connecting Climate Minds in CSA

As the session concluded, Farzana Misha, Assistant Professor and Lead, Climate Change, Environment, and Health Hub (CCEH) at BRAC JPGSPH, expressed gratitude and delivered a message to the collective to create a healthier planet and foster more favorable mental health outcomes.

Dr Jawan Shir Rasikh, Director of the Afghanistan Research and Evaluation Unit (AREU), and Dr. Aditya Dev Sood, Founder and CEO of the Vihara Innovation Network, India, described the next possible steps of climate change and mental health research in this region.

Roufa Khanam, Assistant Director & Sharmin Jahan Nipa, Research Fellow from C3ER, BRAC University described the research question on climate change effects on Mental Health from our two regional dialogues along with a story from their organization's study on CC & mental health.

Day 3 featured the spotlight session on the Central and Southern Asia (CSA) region, with Wafa Alam, Research Fellow at BRAC JPGSPH, kicking off the session. Kunnuru from Kyrgyzstan shared a poignant lived experience story on air pollution and mental health crises in Central Asia.

Day 2 took delegates on an enriching adventure across Barbados' stunning beaches and bustling local fish markets where they savored the sights, sounds, and flavors of the island, forging bonds amidst the vibrant local culture.

Day 1 unfolded with a bustling Marketplace, showcasing crafts and food from Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan & India. Attendees participated in a traditional henna application, immersing themselves in the experience and fostering profound connections.
