I am aware of those studies. There is no proof of causality by the algorithm. Proof would necessitate a specific part of the algorithm selecting for right-leaning content. It is possible that the influx of right-leaning users and the exodus of left wing users post-Musk take over caused the imbalance. This perfectly reasonable explanation has not yet been tested.

We do know, @JoshFerme. You just didn't look. Huszár et al. (2022), PNAS, using X's own internal data: algorithm amplified right-wing content in six of seven countries, amplification exceeding 200%. Pecher et al. (2025), ACM FAccT: new accounts experience right-leaning bias in default timelines. Milli et al. (2025), PNAS Nexus: algorithm amplifies emotionally charged out-group hostile content that users say they do not want to see. Sky News (2025): nine test accounts, left, right, neutral. All received more right-wing content. New accounts had the strongest rightward bias. And "open source"? X released a new Grok-based algorithm in January 2026 with the exact engagement weights removed. You cannot verify what you cannot see. The EU fined X €120m in December 2025 for insufficient algorithmic transparency. Your lot does not flourish here because X is uncensored. It flourishes because the algorithm is built to amplify it.
