Remember there was no welfare system until the late 20th century so if you did not work or you did not succeed, you died or you went home. I haven’t looked at the statistics lately, but something like half the people who came through Ellis Island (I think) wound up going home…. because they could not make it in America. Today we have a rich welfare system and free schooling for illegals etc. not to mention a whole bunch of government fraud occurring that benefits immigrants. None of this occurred earlier in US history.

When you debate with no ethics debating is pointless. I *still* am willing to debate you, however you have presented me with a mountain of evidence. This is similar to the Democrats strategy of "flooding the zone", so there is no room for debate. You are trying to win. That's okay. But I am not here to win against you, or lose either. This is about Trump. Not about me. My issue with you is that you say he has not delivered on any promises. This is false. And kills debate. Since I am still talking with you, I will give you one example: The southern border wall (with Mexico). In his original (2015 and 2016) campaign, Trump had a list. I think it was ten things. One campaign promise was, I will build the wall. The wall is getting close to complete. Even after sabotage by the Biden administration (sections were left open for people to cross illegally, and, the Biden administration put stockpiles of wall panels up for auction right before Trump's inauguration. Fortunately most of the sales were diverted, instead of the wall panels being scrapped). Because you flooded me -- I am not your enemy -- I do not have time to go through your follow up to my original question to you. I am sorry I don't have more time but it is the truth. If I am going to take you seriously -- and I want to -- I would go through your posts about everything Trump has done wrong and tell you if I agree or disagree. It is possibly I would agree with you on more than half of the points you make -- but I would have to spend the time to research first. And because this works best as a debate, if I disagreed with you, I would tell you. I dont think you are right, or I am right, 100% of the time. Where I am telling you that you are wrong is this: It is a lie to say that Trump never keeps his promises. He was re-elected because he does -- at least better than the other politicians, who break promises. When Trump keeps a promise, people notice. I did.

OMG this is the best video we've seen all week. Zach Foust traveled from Milwaukee to Nancy Pelosi’s office to present her with an award. “We're giving her a lifetime a achievement award in trading.” “It’s such a remarkable award.” “She's gotten better than hedge funds for so many years it’s so remarkable. And to do that as a public servant, it's like you're working overtime for us, the Americans. Nancy, this one big shout out names for you, Nancy. You did great. We're gonna do the numbers, guys. So she came into Congress at 1987 worth $3 million. How much you worth now worth now? $317 million.” REPOST and blast this EVERYWHERE! #thinblueline #lawenforcement

Let me help rephrase for you Bernie. Need a loan for college so you can party for a semester and drop out? Taxpayers will loan you money for it. Need an SBA loan for your business ? Taxpayers will guarantee it. For a house ? Taxpayers will guarantee it. And local gov will give you money for your first down payment ! Get sick or are in an accident and you can’t afford your deductible, insurance company denied prescribed care or are uninsured ? You are on your own 😤 Let me add Bernie, the one debt not a single one of us will ever pay off till the day we die ? Our health insurance premiums And before you go in and on about single payer, ask @claudeai to take a look at your proposed Single Payer legislation. You want the Sec of HHS to run it. You can’t have a political appointee run an apolitical position And you expect every provider and doctor to accept whatever rate is set by Medicare. Big hospitals don’t know their costs. They couldn’t do a BOM for any procedure. They have negligible transparency. If they don’t know their costs, and you don’t know their costs, how is it possible for taxpayers, caregivers and patients to get a fair deal ? And the concept of “every other country does it “ ignores the fact that they all converted decades and decades ago, long before you and your peers allowed the extreme vertical integration we face now. Which leads to the question. @BernieSanders , why have you not advocated for the Break Up Big Medicine Bill ?
Bernie Sanders@BernieSanders

Health care? "You're on your own." Housing? "Nothing we can do." Grocery prices? "You're out of luck." $200 billion for another war? "No problem!" Americans—Democrats, Republicans, independents—are SICK AND TIRED of endless wars. We need to invest here at home.

"I can't do Airplane mode at night.. what if my family calls?" You can. Airplane mode kills Cellular, WiFi & Bluetooth. IT DOES NOT kill Ethernet. iPhone → USB Ethernet adapter → Ethernet cable → Router. Your iPhone gets internet. No wireless. No RF. Signal rings. Facetime rings. WhatsApp rings. Telegram rings. Your family can still reach you at 3am. Fifteen dollars. This is the hack nobody's talking about.

- Drafted a blog post - Used an LLM to meticulously improve the argument over 4 hours. - Wow, feeling great, it’s so convincing! - Fun idea let’s ask it to argue the opposite. - LLM demolishes the entire argument and convinces me that the opposite is in fact true. - lol The LLMs may elicit an opinion when asked but are extremely competent in arguing almost any direction. This is actually super useful as a tool for forming your own opinions, just make sure to ask different directions and be careful with the sycophancy.

The at-scale subsidies are a distortion. R&D subsidies can continue. But subsidies to encourage farmers to sell out so that the Ag landscape is crippled by corporate solar installations is a form of money laundering. Wastefulness is never a good look, even with the most innovative tech. Nuclear power was once the number one area of R&D development. Justifiably. However in the process of building out Nuclear electricity infrastructure, due to massive available subsidies and waste, both the capitalist West and communist East built additional boondoggle Nuclear power plants in locations where the costs were never justified, except with subsidies.

Putting some solar panels on your roof is one thing. If you live in a sunny area, it may work. But using them to power an industrialized economy is a whole different ballgame. Countries located above 35°N or below 35°S aren’t going to be able to use solar without installing astronomical and highly expensive battery backup systems or fossil fuel units. Ask yourself why these AI data centers are using natural gas and nuclear to power their operations, not solar. You will find your answer, pea brain.

@ChrisMartzWX Tell me how the solar I put on my roof which has a 8yr payback and a net savings of $40k over its life is a scam. Paid cash. I'll wait.

Come back when you have proof that China is committed to Net Zero. Begin by showing that the Chinese government is committed to cleaning up each and every toxic waste site created by unscrupulous operators in the rush to produce solar panels at scale. Will the toxic waste be left in place, or actually treated.

The factory that produces half of Britain’s salt could soon be killed by Net Zero. For the first time in history, England is set to be a net importer of the world’s most important mineral. This will be catastrophic for UK manufacturing, says Ruari McCallion buff.ly/M8o8O6P

A country's value to other countries is measured by the exports that country produces. If the quality or availability of the exports goes down, the former exporting nation becomes less valuable to other countries. If your country depends on other countries, the issue is not simply balance of payments (measured in Euros). Instead, what has happened is your country is no longer a strategic asset, and instead only a customer.

A food crisis in the making - Dutch gas reserves are at ~6% - The Netherlands is the 2nd largest food exporter - 80% of export vegetables come from greenhouses - Those greenhouses depend on gas This is how an energy crisis turns into a food crisis The Hormuz crisis is cascading through the entire global economy

We have low gas reserves because we choose not to buy from Russia. That’s it. And on top of that, our own natural gas fields are shut down. Government decided not to extract our own gas anymore because of complaints because of small earthquakes. Government never properly compensated house owners with damage, so the majority voted against using our own gas fields. And now we are nearly out of gas. Clown show 🤡

A generation of liberals who are so historically illiterate they still mistake the global ordering effects of US imperium for a genuinely rules-based system. The international legalism underpinning this government has been dead for >8 yrs & they still can't smell its corpse.

Good question. The simple answer is that many Green folks (I am included in this category) have jobs that do not require running an entire factory. The "home economy" of a residential house is the biggest "factory scale" these folks are familiar with. This is not limited to government or non profit jobs. Many companies -- even industrial companies -- have white collar workers who do not personally experience what factory work is like. I am lucky. I am pro-Green, yet I am also pro-Factory. I grew up with a willingness to read books from 100 years ago, before the anti-factory propaganda gave a split personality to the Green movement.

Frank -- srec's are cool. I have actually indirectly bought srec's before. (Never needed to go through the hassle of purchasing directly because I did not need to show my receipts to anyone). When you say "This isn't true" I want to argue with you. The poster you were replying to said your payback on investment was possible because of subsidies... In my case, I bought srec's voluntarily, because I wanted to support the shift to cleaner energy. However it is my understanding that many companies and industrial developments are compelled to purchase srec's. They are force to show their receipts, to prove that they offset emissions. And many companies and projects have been operating under emissions caps. In that regard, the money you earn from srec's, while only part of your return on investment, could be legitimately seen as a subsidy. If the per company or per project emissions caps were fully dismantled, the srec market would shrink to only have voluntary purchases. My prediction is that a voluntary-only market would be smaller than a market that mixes compelled purchases and voluntary purchases.

@TimBerr71395066 @ChrisMartzWX This isnt true. My system was 36k that the prior owner paid in full in 2012. My electric bill has been zero for the 10 years ive lived here. If I actually had bills, over that 10 years id easily have paid over 36k. I also sell srec's to the tune of $350/month on average.
