I never thought I would write this. But here it comes: I’m running for #UN Secretary-General 🇺🇳. Because of the 30,000 killed by Israel in Gaza. Because global warming exceeded 1.5° in 2023. We can stop this. Endorse our campaign, #Unite4survival 🗳️ unite4survival.org

“They put me on a metal table, pressed my chest and head against it, cuffed my hands to end of the bed and pulled my legs apart forcefully. I felt a penis penetrating my anus and a man raping me. I started screaming, and they beat me on my back and head. While I was blindfolded, I felt a man who was raping me ejaculate inside my anus. I kept screaming and being beaten, and I could hear a camera, so I believe they were filming me. I cannot describe what I felt. I wished for death. Every moment." — UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese reads Palestinian survivor accounts of rape, torture, and killings in Israeli detention. 18,500+ have been detained since October 7. At least around a hundred, including a child, have died in custody. And some 4,000 are forcibly disappeared. “What is lost in Palestine will be lost to us all.” — @FranceskAlbs told the Human Rights Council in Geneva.

⚖️ UN EXPERT: Israel Using Torture In ‘Genocidal’ Campaign against Palestinians A new report by UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese finds Israel has systematically used torture against Palestinians since Oct. 2023, describing it as a core tool of genocide. ➤ Systematic torture as policy: Based on 300+ testimonies, the report says torture is embedded across detention sites and daily life, aimed at “breaking bodies” and forcing Palestinians from their land. ➤ Mass detention and abuse: Over 18,500 Palestinians have been detained, including children. Detainees face starvation, beatings, sexual violence, electric shocks, sleep deprivation, and denial of medical care. Deaths in custody range from 84 to 94+, with many cases concealed. ➤ Sexual violence documented: The report details rape and other forms of sexual abuse against detainees, used as a method of humiliation, coercion, and control. ➤ Targeting professionals: Doctors, journalists, UN staff, and academics are singled out, indicating an effort to dismantle Palestinian society’s capacity to function. ➤ Gaza as “torture environment”: The report says Israel has turned Gaza into a space where no place is safe, combining bombardment, displacement, starvation, and destruction of homes, hospitals, and cultural sites to inflict collective suffering. ➤ Starvation and siege: Policies cutting food, water, fuel, and aid are described as deliberate tools of mass suffering, with hundreds already dead from malnutrition. ➤ Psychological terror: Constant surveillance, forced displacement of nearly 2 million people, and repeated strikes on “safe zones” create what the report calls a permanent state of fear and coercion. The report from @FranceskAlbs concludes torture is being used both as a method and as evidence of genocidal intent, forming part of a broader system of domination, destruction, and forced removal.

It does not have to be this way. France and other European governments have the tools to respond to these US sanctions. They just don’t have the courage to use them. All words, no action. Meanwhile they (governments, political elite) have the audacity to lament our (European societies) unwillingness to invest in national defence. I say: start modelling a posture of strength and resistance; respond effectively to the sanctions, stand up to the US bullying and attacks on international law (as we are prepared to do with Russia)

Only this month, • Israel murdered over 1000 people in #Lebanon, including 40 medical workers. • “It has forced the mass displacement of a 1/4 of Lebanon’s population and targeted 14% of the country with expulsion orders.” It now said it has only just begun!

This is the heart of Beirut today. A city that has stood for 5,000 years. Israel is obliterating it — flattening civilian apartment block after apartment block. Not military targets. Civilian homes. Civilian infrastructure. Civilian life.

One of the most atrocious international crimes being committed right now is the US blockade on Cuba. The US government is doing everything it can to strangle Cuba’s economy, especially by ramping up the oil blockade. No electricity, no oil, no fuel. Barely any food. A severe health crisis has erupted. Why is the US doing this? For no reason other than its dislike of the Cuban regime. Cuba poses no threat to the US. There is overwhelming global opposition to the US blockade. UN human rights experts have condemned it as a serious violation of international law. Now, Trump wants to take over Cuba, saying: “I can do anything I want with it.” This is one of the most grotesque crimes of our time.

🇺🇳 UN warns of “ethnic cleansing” in the West Bank The UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR) has released a report covering the year ending October 2025. The findings suggest a coordinated Israeli policy aimed at "long-term demographic engineering." The Scale of the Crisis: 🔹36,000+ Palestinians displaced in a single year—a scale described as “unprecedented.” 🔹1,732 Settler Attacks documented (up from 1,400), described as “coordinated” and fueled by “widespread impunity.” 🔹64,000+ Settlement Units advanced (37,000 in East Jerusalem; 27,000 in the West Bank). UN Rights Chief Volker Türk warns these actions may constitute unlawful mass forcible transfer and reflects a policy of “ethnic cleansing.” The UN is urging an immediate halt to all settlement expansion, the return of displaced Palestinians, and an end to land seizures and demolitions.
