CREATIVE MURAL 🤩 Students at Long Beach Middle School used Rubik’s cubes to create a mural of Martin Luther King Jr. for #BlackHistoryMonth. - bit.ly/3uzySxW

Students in 7th grade math counts learned how to solve the Rubik’s cube, then learned how to make any configuration for this culminating project which will be donated to our local MLK Center.

With news of our school’s boiler being broken, our school will be virtual on Monday. One possible solution to bring students back is perpendicular learning. This ensures that everyone is learning in a 90° atmosphere.

An abacus was used to make calculations by moving the beads within the frame. Like so many immigrants, my family came from China in search of a better life. The faced discrimination, racism and other hardships. This abacus reminds me of the sacrifices

Did you know that May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month? I am 1/2 Chinese and I am so lucky to have grown up immersed in Chinese culture. I am sharing this picture of me with an abacus that my great grandparents used in their laundry.
