@MattRKay 1. There is school after grades because school is about more than just grades. In fact some of the most important lessons happen out of graded work. 2. Another question is, why does my high-schooler not have grades until the due date? How is she supposed to gage her learning?

I love field day etc as much as the next guy 🙌🏿… but why is school open even a day (or frankly, even a minute) after grades go in?

COVID actually stopped the world, and created a space to re-imagine everything. Now, as things are spinning again, education has fallen back into the same old routine. This is a problem. We need to do better for our students, for our future.

Finding comfort and inspiration while rereading parts of #wegotthis by @MisterMinor today. It’s the absolute best book I’ve ever read to develop my skills as a teacher and leader.

Teachers - with much respect and admiration. Please note, when you grade dump the week grades are due, students w/ anxiety are not ok. They are watching grades all quarter/semester long, and do care. At the end of the term it is too late for them to adjust. Keep them informed!❤
