My pleasure to welcome @Keir_Starmer @AndyBurnhamGM and @bphillipsonMP to Holy Trinity primary school in Ashton this morning. 33 new free breakfast clubs will open across Greater Manchester this week, giving 10,000 more children a free, healthy start to the school day. That’s Labour on your side. 🌹

@LucyTCWife No - he locked people up for inciting riots and for calling on people to burn down asylum hotels with migrants inside. You plead guilty because you were. Stop using these poor Children and their families to justify your appalling actions.

Kinda boomer posting but he's not calling himself Jesus. He has been clear all along that he feels he is doing the work God set for him. Jesus' disciples healed the sick in His name. With Christ in us, we can do His work too. People who are outraged just wanna be

Brilliant turnout for Ellesmere Port Pride in Place drop-in. 🙌 Great to hear ideas on how £20m of regeneration funding can make a real difference locally. Thanks to everyone who came — if you missed it, you can still get involved 👇

So ‘Restore Britain’ far right clowns want to scrap public sector translation services. That policy is dangerous NONSENSE. Here are 5 examples why: 1️⃣ Our military would be unable to translate NATO intelligence when it isn’t in English. 2️⃣ A&E doctors would be guessing a tourist’s allergies eg if they were going into anaphylactic shock. 3️⃣ Criminals could walk free because key witnesses, such as visitors who see a major crime, couldn’t have their statements translated. 4️⃣ Intelligence services would be unable to carry out foreign language work. 5️⃣ Border Force would be severely weakened by an inability to conduct in-depth foreign language interviews. Impractical, dangerous discrimination.
Restore Britain@RestoreBritain_

Restore Britain will end all foreign language translation in the public sector, saving hundreds and hundreds of millions. If you live in our country, you speak our language.

McFaul: Trump doesn't get it. NATO is a defensive alliance. NATO didn't fight in Vietnam with us, with the French in Algeria, with the Portuguese in Angola and Mozambique, or with the UK in the Falklands. The only time they fought together was after Sep 11.

@KemiBadenoch You've had absolutely nothing to do with the shelving of this arrangement, (one in which your party's Govt played a huge role in negotiating), you absolute irrelevance. If you were in power, it would have gone ahead anyway because you would have kowtowed to Trump from the outset

Starmer wanted to surrender British sovereignty. We said no. And Britain is much safer for it.

@KemiBadenoch If Sir Keir Starmer had appeased the mental orange lunatic in the White house (like you wanted to do) the Chagos deal would have gone ahead, Let that sink into your empty head

Here’s what actually happened after the 1945 Labour government: 35yrs of unparalleled improvements in living standards on a social-democratic basis, with mass social housebuilding, full employment, energy independence, consistent real wage growth, and national ownership of core industries. We can only wish for such an inheritance today. But that Britain has been sold by the pound to satisfy the kind of false economies & financial short-termism inherent in Tom’s market liberal ideology. If trade unions were the culprit for Britain as the “sick man of Europe”, then we need to explain why Franco-German competitors grew FASTER during the trente glorieuses/German economic miracle with HIGHER union militancy + powerful Communist municipalities/regional gov. in France + deeply embedded labour representation on works councils etc. in W. Germany.

Britain went from superpower to sick man of Europe in the space of a single generation, largely thanks to decisions made in one single parliamentary term 1945-1950. We destroyed our competitiveness and gave the whip hand to unions that prioritised retaining existing jobs over creating new ones. Companies didn’t die overnight. But as international competitors innovated - eg cutting jobs in one area and growing them in another, adding more technology or automation, becoming more efficient. British firms could do none of that. Held to ransom by union barons that didn’t care for the growth or success of the company, only for their own remuneration. At the expense of the growth of the company. One by one our industries died, some staggering on as zombies reliant on state subsidy to survive. When the subsidy stopped they were finally put out of their misery. How anyone could look at the postwar consensus and think that’s what we need now is genuinely baffling. A one way road to ruin.

Even in small, insignificant gestures, Trump impressively demonstrates just what an idiot he is. He isn't even capable of closing an umbrella and leaves that to the Secret Service

So turns out the “London is collapsing” narrative isn’t grassroots at all. It’s being pumped out by bots, content farms, and foreign-aligned networks then laundered through politicians and media. Manufacture the fear. Repeat it enough. Turn it into policy.

At this election, Labour’s argument is the serious one: in uncertain times, we don’t need anger or easy answers but steady leadership and real delivery. #LocalElections

Starmer and other European leaders were conspicuous by their silence yesterday, I've no doubt if they'd all posted a rant on this platform to satisfy a load of middle class besandalled drips and malcontents it would have helped de-escalate the situation no end
