This month, I co-led strategic workshops in Jordan with global leaders from the Tertiary Refugee Student Network and at the Universities of Sanctuary conference in York with people from across the UK. My memo for 2025: widening multi-level impact.

THIS is what a movement for change looks like. This incredible lot are the Universities of Sanctuary network - a movement led by students, activists, lecturers & uni staff working together to create welcome & equal access in higher education for people seeking sanctuary. 🧵

Out with the old, in with the new☀️ As @Keir_Starmer becomes PM, our Chief Officer Sian gives her thoughts on how this government should change tack on how people seeking sanctuary are welcomed & supported in the UK. We want this gov to prioritise a fair new plan for refugees.

I just can’t get past Labour winning 65% of seats off 34% of the vote. Absolutely wild mismatch between the headline result and, well, everything else. Britain is now a multi-party system, and first-past-the-post can’t cope.
