"Surrogacy King" Barrie Drewitt-Barlow, one of Britain's first prominent gay surrogate fathers, and his husband Scott Hutchinson, have been charged with additional serious sexual offences, including sexual activity with a child, paying for sexual services of a child, rape, and sexual assault. In May 2026 both men were charged with rape, sexual assault, and modern slavery (trafficking for sexual exploitation). They pleaded not guilty, denying allegations that they targeted, befriended, groomed, and raped four young men. Barrie Drewitt-Barlow has 8 children via surrogacy contracts in total. He has an estimated net worth exceeding $200 million, with a portion of his assets coming from the international surrogacy sector.
