اینو برای سالهای بعد می‌نویسم که اگر زنده بودم برگردم و بخونم. یادم بیاد اکثر مردم ایران مخالف جنگ بودن تا اینکه علی خامنه‌ای و یارانش تصمیم گرفتن مردم رو به چنان خاک و خونی بکشن که هیچکس باور نمی‌کرد. تمام گزارش‌هایی که از داخل ایران گرفتم نشون می‌داد که پنجشنبه‌شب و جمعه‌شب، حکومت کنترل خودش رو بر برخی از شهرها (به خصوص شهرهای کوچک) از دست داده بود. یادم بیاد که دوستی می‌گفت یکی از افسران نیروی انتظامی را دیده که به مردم التماس می‌کرده که برید خونه. به اینا گفتن بکشنتون. مردم به جمعیتشون نگاه می‌کردن و باور نمی‌کردن که ایرانی دست به قتل این حجم جمعیت اونم با رگبار بزنه! وقتی تیراندازی شروع می‌شه همون افسر سر نیروهای لباس شخصی و رسمی داد می‌زده که "تیر نزن! دارم می‌فرستمشون خونه. نزن بی‌شرف!" درسته گزارش‌های خیلی خیلی کمی از این جنس دلسوزی‌ها اومده ولی اکثر ماموران حکومت چه رسمی و چه لباس شخصی، با خشونتی که تا الان سابقه نداشته دست به قتل‌عام زدن. یادم باشه که چند منبع متفاوت تایید کردن افراد لباس شخصی که در بین مردم بودن، یک‌دفعه شروع به تیراندازی از فاصله نزدیک به مردم کردن. اگر متوجه می‌شدن که کسی از شجاعت کافی برخورداره و زخمی شده تعقیبش می‌کردن و توی بیمارستان یا هر جایی که گیرش می‌آوردن بهش تیر خلاص می‌زدن. (حداقل در سه شهر مشهد، تهران و کرج گزارش تایید‌شده داریم). یادم بیاد که گزارش‌های زیادی رسیده که مردم عادی که برای رفتن سر کار یا خرید خونه اومده بودن بیرون، در خیابان خلوت و جایی که هیچ نشانی از تطاهرات نبود توسط ماموران متوقف می‌شدند و گاهی بدون دلیل بهشون شلیک می‌شد تا «حساب کار دست همه بیاد!». یادم بیاد مردم ایران اینترنت نداشتن. یادم بیاد مردم ایران یهو شدن مردم کره شمالی. یادم بیاد که دوستی می‌گفت روز دوشنبه و سه‌شنبه که به خیابان می‌رفتیم مردمی را می‌دیدیم که بهت زده شده‌اند. بلد نبودن که وقتی اینترنت ندارن و گوشی موبایل با یه تیکه آجر هیچ فرقی نداره باید چیکار کنن. سکوت پر از بهت و ترس و خشم بر کل ایران ٩٣ میلیونی حاکم شده بود. یکی توی مترو به کناریش گفته بود "فیلما رو دیدی توی اینترنشنال؟ حالا اون پیرمرد گفت بکشید. اینا واقعا ما رو کشتن؟ مگه اینا اجاره خونه نمی‌دن؟ مگه اینا نمی‌بینن رنگ بچه‌هامون از گشنگی پریده؟" و شروع کرده بود به گریه کردن. و گفته بود "ببخشید. نمی‌دونم چی شد بعد از سه روز یهو اشکم دراومد." یادم بیاد یک هفته‌س که نگران «س» هستم چون هیچ خبری ازش نیست. نگران «ع». نگران «ف». نگران «م». نگران «س». نگران «ح». نگران «ا». نگران «س». نگران تمام حروف الفبا که اولین حرف اسم کسی‌ست. دوستی؛ عزیزی؛ هم‌وطنی… باید همیشه یادم بیاد که مردم فقط کمی زندگی بهتر می‌خواستند. ابن را باید یادم بماند. مردم کمی آزادی می‌خواستند. مردم می‌خواستند مثل اکثر مردم دنیا، یک هفته کار کنند و چهارشنبه عصر وقتی از محل کار بیرون می‌آیند به همکارشون بگن "برنامه‌ت برای آخر هفته چیه؟" و شنبه صبح وقتی همدیگرو می‌بیینن بگن "خوش گذشت؟" مردم یک زندگی ساده با مشکلات و خوشی‌های ساده می‌خواستند اما پیرمرد ٨۶ ساله این را دوست نداشت. او سالها تصمیمش را گرفته بود. او و سازمان مخوفی که درست کرده بود. باید همه اینها یادم بماند. باید یادم بماند چون بشر فراموشکاره و به خصوص وقتی زمان بگذره، اولین کاری که می‌کنه پاک کردن خاطراتیه که چشم انسان برای دیدنش آمادگی نداره چه برسه به اینکه تبدیل به حافظه ماندگار بشه. مغز انسان برای تحمل این حجم مصیبت ساخته نشده. یادم بیاید که جمهوری اسلامی نه تنها شبیه همه پلیدی‌های شده بود که ۴٧ سال علیه‌ش حرف زده بود بلکه بدتر شده بود. بدتر از یزید، بدتر از شمر، بدتر از صدام و بدتر از همه کسانی که به آنها هر روز «مرگ» می‌فرستاد. باید همه اینها رو یادداشت کنم که یادم بماند... #IranMassacre #IranRevolution2026 #Iran

For decades, the Iranian people have endured unimaginable oppression at the hands of a brutal dictatorship that has denied their humanity. We have been horrified at the reports coming out of Iran, including hospitals full of dead bodies—murdered by the regime—and protestors shot point-blank in the streets of Tehran and other cities. But we have also been inspired by the resolve of Iranian activists, led largely by fearless women. Generations of Iranians have fought against the odds to establish a nation built on self-determination and human dignity, and it is our sincere prayer that this is the generation to achieve it.

My friend Parsa Saffar, a brilliant 5th-semester medical student at Mashhad University and a graduate of Iran’s elite talent schools, was murdered with military weapons during the January 10, 2026 massacre. BREAKING: UK-based Iran International reports that the most conservative estimates are that at least 2,000 protestors have been killed in Iran over the past 48 hours

California stands in solidarity with the people of Iran, who are confronting violent repression, mass internet and power shutdowns, and economic collapse imposed by a theocratic authoritarian regime. The scale and persistence of protests across Iran demand fundamental change after decades of state violence and denial of basic rights. In support of California’s Iranian community and in defense of universal human rights, we urge an immediate end to violence against civilians, the restoration of internet access, and respect for the Iranian people’s right to chart their own future.

An Iranian social worker who attended a protest in Tehran on Friday said the situation deteriorated into a “nightmare” when authorities attacked demonstrators.
