Today we are again witnessing the unbearable loss of young lives in places like Sudan and Iran, where schools that should have been places of learning have become places of mourning. My father warned that violence multiplies violence and that the choice before humanity is no longer violence or nonexistence but nonviolence or nonexistence. Let there be as much outrage from politicians in Washington when kids go hungry as there is when I break bread with New Yorkers.
