@ty5t1e @potty_9 @andrewm1191 It's not definitely true.
16 team world Cup?
Fuck you on about this isn't 1978 pal😂
Once again 55 European teams competed to qualify for this world Cup.
50 teams in 1998.
Put a sock in it.
Pronto.
English

@CelticF1rst Yeah, they still class themselves as a big team because they won a tourney 60 years ago 😉
English

@jamierkennedy A female interviewer asked if he was in proportion - he answered no, he would be 9foot 2.
English

A name to remember… Gordon Sherry.
In the field at Augusta this week.
The reigning British Amateur champion finished 4th at the 1995 Scottish Open and then won £1 at The Open in St Andrews?
How you may ask?
He had a bet with fellow amateur Tiger Woods on who would shoot better at the Old Course.
Sherry finished 40th. Tiger 68th.

@Vanguard109 @_DIGB You’ve obviously never watched Goram. The only world class player Scotland have had in the last 40years.
English

@_DIGB Craig Gordon beats Goram, surely? The flying hippo was immense, but Gordon is one of the best keepers ever.
English

@LawrieAnneBrown We go out every game with the sole objective of stopping the other side scoring. There is zero football played and it is awful to watch. Our style is detrimental to the likes of Mctominay and McGinn who are attack-minded players.
English

First time at a World Cup in 28 years and booing at a 1-0 defeat against a team who’s ranked 22 places above us in the FIFA rankings…. Remember the dark days… ?? Get behind Steve Clarke and the team 💙🏴

🏴 "It disappointed me..." Steve Clarke was surprised to hear some boos at the end of Scotland's friendly defeat to Japan ⤵️
English

@ewancorky @DavidTannerTV Surely you keep that for church, no?
English

Hey @DavidTannerTV I’m just wondering why you felt the need to express your discontent with Celtic fans blessing themselves? Could you elaborate on your feelings towards that please??
English

Daizen Maeda running rings around Ferguson, Mclean and Patterson. This is why we need a Scotland team filled with Celtic fans and players 🍀

HALF TIME: Scotland 0-0 Japan. After a combative first half, we’re level at the break. #SCOJPN
English

@EwenDCameron Good luck to anyone trying to keep their eyes open to watch us in the World Cup 😴
English

Fans have every right to boo Steve.
Even more so when we’re shite.
Stop picking your favourites and pick players who are in form also.
Thanks.

@ScotlandSky Nae chance anyone will be able to keep their eyes open at 23:00 to watch Clarke’s team in the World Cup
English

@TonyMcKelvie @Stevedubwin Aye yer ok with it as long as it’s a Celtic fan?! Spineless!
English

The only way smyth cld win was by cheating!! Found out in England, pure shite at Everton

Ryan 🇬🇧@_RyanRFC_
@DThuaidh @boy_boyne Aye, Walter knew, how to beat Celtic He also knew that Big Jock knew
English

@MackyEire I am not interested in them so don’t go near them - why don’t you just do the same? Let the people who enjoy them get on with it 👍🏻
English

Stop pretending Orange Order parades are culture instead of what they really are: loud, outdated displays of division dressed up as tradition. Marching bands of bitterness clogging streets with the same old hate, expecting respect they’ve never earned. If your identity needs a parade built on exclusion, maybe it’s not worth celebrating.

English

@lee_samo @_RyanRFC_ Rommens is better than barisic too in my opinion
English

@_RyanRFC_ 10 at that’s me getting Moore in for Wright just for the sake of it - don’t forget how good that team was and how average this one is
English

@Lonelyfire @minty_dave @pieandbov He's clearly trying to knock Slattery's arm away from him, there is zero intent to hit him on the face.
English

@minty_dave @pieandbov Not even remotely true, Slattery was pulling his left arm and King swung around and swiped at Slattery with his right.

Motherwell midfielder Callum Slattery has been handed a four-game ban, two of which are suspended, for simulation which resulted in a red card for St Mirren defender Richard King. #BBCFootball
English

An awful lot of revisionism taking place about the Slattery ban that was dished out yesterday.
First of all, the referee did NOT see the incident, he had his back to it as play was miles away from where it happened. The assitant referee also missed it.
The red card was advised by the 4th official via communication to the ref who really then had no choice but to give it, presumably thinking VAR would call a review if something was amiss.
VAR, for whatever reason, decided it wasn't a clear and obvious error so did not seek to get involved.
You can probably imagine, in real time, what the 4th official might have thought he saw.
The failure here, other than the cheating itself of course, is that VAR just shrugged it's shoulders and decided there was nothing amiss.
Had VAR done it's job, the red would have been overturned, and I don't even think Slattery would have got booked, and the incident would have passed with virtually no further comment.
As it is, Saints were reduced to ten men for 30 mins, during which they lost two further goals.
Motherwell benefitted from this cheating, like it or not, and the player has now been punished for his role in that and made an example of.
Players dive and simulate every week, in EVERY team, yes, but the tech is supposed to be there to help eliminate penalties or red cards being given after simulation. In 2026 a player in the Premiership should not be getting sent off as a result of a player blatantly simulating violent conduct.
Motherwell expecting "consistency going forward" are going to be disappointed because the chances of all of the events that happened here taking place again are incredibly slim.
Slattery has paid the price for the VAR failure here, but end of the day, he's cheated, and he knew full well what he was doing.
Keep seeing folk crying about a 4 game ban. It's a two game ban, same as Richard King would have got for his supposed "violent conduct".
It only becomes 4 if he does it again, and although in this particular individuals case you can never rule that out (he had already feigned violent conduct against St.Mirren this season at Fir Park) the chances of him doing it again, and getting a fellow pro sent off again, are negible for the reasons I've already given.
English

@ChrisHammer180 Littler ever gets pumped when he hits the 60 to leave 170. Guy is on a different planet.
English

@Dickson_SMFC @HibeesMc While I agree with everything you are saying, it’s a nothing incident that should have been a yellow card for slattery diving. Now, both St Mirren and Motherwell have been penalised because the ref and VAR have made a rip roaring cunt of it 🤣
English

@DelGenius @HibeesMc Slattery took the risk so he can serve his ban for being a stupid cunt 👍
English

@Dickson_SMFC @HibeesMc I never said that. If the ref spots it he gets booked for diving. The VAR officials should notice this and, as per VAR rules, it’s not a red card offence so no action taken.
The VAR officials make a cunt of it and send off the St Mirren player. As a result Slattery gets ban.
English

@DelGenius @HibeesMc Aye so cheating Callum Slattery is entirely blameless in this 🥴🥴
If you don't want to risk a ban, don't cheat. It's not really that difficult mate
