For instance, my disability effects my arms, and using voice enabled typing doesn't work in certain softwares. My university paid someone for 300 hours work to type for me. I was surprised I could get that level of support and massively helped me.

My mom has a disabled kid in her class and is teaching the kids it’s ok to say “disability” because “my daughter is a disability advocate and her community says it’s ok!”

Disabled pals, I need your help! What positive impact does accessibility have on your life and how does it make you feel? I’m writing a blog post on this topic and would love to include as many responses as possible. Reply to this tweet to be featured.

Okay so now I’m up to six adult stray cats and three kittens which is costing a lot to feed daily. Would people be willing to buy some cat food if I add to an Amazon wishlist? 😬 Also in talks with management to finally get them TNR too :)

Breaking News: I have been awarded the Society for Disability Studies Senior Scholar Award for 2022! I got dizzy when I found out. I am humbled, honored, grateful, and thrilled. Thank you to the folks who read my work, wrote about the work, and collaborated with me. Thank you.

I just noticed that none of the major EDS charity websites has a page or info for how to handle EDS patients in an emergency. What are some tips you'd like doctors to consider as a heads up for us in the ER / A&E? I'll give a couple examples next but could use more...

I would rather have a compassionate system that a few people took advantage of, than a harsh system that allows people to die because they happen to be poor.

I can't be the only person who works on the weekend to "make up" for breaks I needed to take in the week due to my disability?
