@mavrick_brett There is a complexity that I worry is often reduced, and I think it is only going to get more tangled. *BUT*, there were people doing good work who were hurt because they thought this was directed at them and their work, and for that, I am truly sorry.

@mavrick_brett Thank you, but my timing was bad, because I made my comments against the backdrop of an open letter (well researched, by people who did their homework) against bad policing practices. So people thought I was making a case FOR bad cop shit (which I wasn't).

An incredibly important thread on the scope creep of contact tracing in Singapore -- can we prevent this in other jurisdictions? Rolling back surveillance once it's in place is a monumental task.

@meresar_math I had a similar situation moving here - I needed the results back before departure, but needed the test time to be no more than 72hr before arrival on a 24hr trip. I had to drive quite a ways away to buy a very expensive test at a private lab to meet the timeline.
