But the impact of their behavior can still be controlling or exploitative, even if it comes from insecurity, ego protection, or lack of emotional awareness. The result is often the same: relationships that feel one-sided, unstable, and centered around them rather than mutual care. Healthy love looks different—it involves respect, accountability, empathy, and the ability to see and value another person as they truly are, not just what they provide.
