@MikeInBuffalo The issue is stolarz likely had the lower trade value and has a 16 team NTC so it's very possible he just couldn't be moved as opposed to them wanting to move woll over him

First trade by #Leafs GM John Chayka is a dud. TOR trades Joseph Woll instead of injury-prone Anthony Stolarz, along w/Simon Benoit. Emil Andrae is a decent undersized puck mover, but G Samuel Ersson is a downgrade, & a 3rd rounder is not enough to make up the difference.

After evaluating though and sitting with it, it's a fine trade. Hildeby & AK both waiting for an NHL chance & Stolarz is better than Woll.
I see this as essentially Woll for Ersson & a 3rd, and Benoit for Andrae. Two fine deals.

@ScoutingIce @AdamWylde Ersson is probably getting flipped or they try to get him to sign a two way deal so it leads to closer to 3mil in cap a likely D upgrade and opens a spot for hildeby which was needed

@AdamWylde But is it really a cap dump? Andrae needs a new contract.
My guess is he signs something like a 2y x 2.2m.. and Ersson is an RFA as well.. so there shouldn't be that much of a difference i think..
