I respect your right to imagine. But I will give you my honest answer as a soldier who serves under the same flag that defeated that rebellion. War is not won by imagination. It is won by logistics, strategy, and the will of a people to remain one. The Biafran engineers were brilliant, no doubt. They built what they could with what they had. But brilliance alone does not build a world power. Sustainability does. And after three years, the enclave was starving, surrounded, and out of options. You ask me to imagine a sovereign Biafra. I will ask you to imagine a Nigeria where every region stays, builds, and contributes. What we have achieved together as messy, frustrating, and painful as it is far outweighs what any secessionist state could have built alone. I did not take an oath to a tribe, religion or a region. I took an oath to the 🇳🇬 Federal Republic of Nigeria. That flag covers every square inch of this country, from the creeks of the South-South to the sands of the North-East. And while I wear this uniform, I will defend that unity. We can argue about marginalisation. We can debate restructuring. But wishful thinking about a defeated state from 55 years ago does not help the Nigerian who is struggling today. Build Nigeria, not fantasies of what could have been. 🇳🇬
