A local nature reserve has been destroyed by fire causing £100k of damage (arson is suspected by the fire brigade). Created, managed & developed by local volunteers they are understandably devastated. Any help would be greatly appreciated gofund.me/3ba0e8b2

Le Mans Race-week basic run down for the ‘once a year’ sportscar fan - firstly welcome! Good to have you along. 🙂 - Ferrari have been dominating WEC with better pace than others and nicely organised strategy. - BUT: Le Mans will have it’s own ‘balance of performance’ regs so the competitive order will shift for this week. - LM24 has a new qualifying format - ‘a bit like F1’ - 3 sessions whittling down the competitors. - 62 cars, 186 drivers, 21 hypercars 19 of these are factory OEM entered. - LMP2 (ELMS cars) join the field for Le Mans. - Drivers are finding the track noticeably quicker from the get go this year. - If you’ve not watched LM for a while, cars now do not ‘run out of fuel’ per se - they have an allotted total energy per stint. WEC TV package provides quite a good graphic for this, so you can follow it. It sounds more complex than it is. - There are still 3 safety cars at Le Mans but now they ‘merge’ at the end of each SC period. Which has various strategic effects we’ll cover in broadcast.

Good afternoon, everyone 😊 I'm looking for suggestions on cars with any kind of connection to the Dakar Rally. This could be anything from having "Dakar" in their name to actually competing in the event—or even a more obscure link. All suggestions are welcome! It is for a little charity project I’m working on. For example: Pajero Evo, 911 Dakar etc

@ListerLawrence Genuine question: if the components are not from the UK, does it matter? The cars are assembled here with internationally sourced parts; are they truly manufactured in the UK?

@hjwakerley @bellsportclass Autoclass MK are great. It is ironic that Mercedes HQ is there and their flagship dealership there, was not as good as AutoClass at diagnosing and fixing stuff

Autoclass pop-in 🍒 There are three independent garages that I really really rate; Bell Classics, Charles Gates Racing and Autoclass MK. Bells has the best Ferrari (Lancia etc) tech in the UK, Charles is a master of all things BMW but can put his mind to anything and Autoclass are Mercedes magicians. Genuinely never found anyone who can find and fix a fault as quickly as Autoclass can. This isn’t an ad or anything like that, just credit where credit is due. Within 10 seconds of the Hammer arriving they knew what was wrong and had fixed it. It’s the same story every time I bring them a Benz, true masters of their trade.

This is a proper throwback! On this day in 1999 I finished my first WRC event in the factory Focus with 5th place at the Safari Rally 🇰🇪 I wasn't meant to drive but came in after Rådstrom got injured! My friend/teammate Colin McRae won the rally, so it was a memorable time! 🤩
