Via the recent Criterion sale, my wife secretly bought me some Blu-Rays while I was doing...the exact same thing in reverse.

@FadeOutPod Planning to see this myself. Was it emotionally authentic though even if the factual details were skewed? Does it work as a cohesive story of that first broadcast?

Went to see SATURDAY NIGHT yesterday, which I enjoyed quite a bit. But as an obsessive devotee of the show since the 70s, I will admit I was distracted by the details they got wrong. Which is dumb--this isn't a documentary, it's drama. But I couldn't help it.

They should have kept this set and shot a dozen more movies on it.

Panoramic shot of the set of Rear Window during the day, at twilight, and at night. The set feels like such a familiar and cozy place. The neighbors feel familiar too. I especially love the couple who sleeps on the balcony 😂
