I'm finding more and more that just because someone calls themselves a Christian or a follower of any religion, that it does NOT mean that they are a good person.

The only reason I brought it up is because you can't treat people horribly one day and beg God for forgiveness and the next day treat people horribly again and then again ask for forgiveness. At some point it's got to be recognized that they're not really sorry for what they're doing if they're constantly having to beg for forgiveness for the same action over and over again.
