@jtriangle It was out/clearing when I left the area a little while ago. Smoke had stopped.

@TheAwkwardDrop @datasstino oh, you can go straight into the park from the Lakeshore path, via Colborne Lodge drive. There's even a bike signal there, though the timing of that light is a bit short.

@TheAwkwardDrop @datasstino I bet the bike route isn't too bad, sounds like you'd be approaching from the east side so you might have a good connection to (mostly) separated bike lane on Bloor st?

@nicolasblume @OC_Transpo yes but those "double decker" racks are usually not very secure to lock up to, compared to these solid ring-and-post designs. Usually kinda flimsy and awkward. Personally I can't use them b/c I'm too short to reach.

Hey cyclists! We bet your wheels are spinning or should be soon. For a monthly fee, customers can access secure and enclosed premium bicycle parking at certain Transitway stations. Call 613-842-3777 to register, or learn more at octranspo.com/en/news/articl…

@NathanAAA @OC_Transpo It looks like you register for a specific reserved spot here. The "bike rooms" they have in Toronto at Union station and a few others are also monthly - seems intended for people who commute regularly to the same spot kinda thing.

@OC_Transpo Why is this a monthly fee and not per use?? There's enough space for about a dozen bikes in there... Imagine paying for this, then finding no space, and then your bike gets stolen. Ridiculous.

@iJonniM @Penalosa_G What he's saying is to distribute those many units across many mid-rise blocks, instead of concentrating them into a few tall buildings. That way green space can be incorporated and distributed as well.

@Penalosa_G But those gigantic buildings can offer housing for thousands of people .. houses and small units do not solve the housing crisis … tall building apartments is the only solution

Horror!!! This is what Ford wants to build in the suburbs!! Richmond Hill and Markham. Keep in mind that you get the same density with 6 floors next to each other than 5 every other block. Gigantic buildings age poorly, isolate community, little sense of belonging.

Not ONE meter or Greenbelt needed. If Toronto, and most GTHA municipalities as Hamilton, Burlington, Mississauga, Brampton, Markham, Oshawa, etc., allowed density along public transit corridors of 6-12 floor buildings, it'd open space for 10 times units needed for 50% more pop.

@MoveBravely @StoptionalTO I think I've forgotten this too but so far we mostly have plastic "flex-posts", not bollards which are more rigid. Can't think of too many places in #biketo so far that have actual bollards.

@StoptionalTO I agree, a concern, although I'll add that on Dundas near Sackville, all the bollards have all been run over or torn up by vehicles.
