Yesterday (4/22/26), deputies and @FHPOrlando troopers responded to multiple reports of hit-and-run crashes involving a reckless driver on I-4, starting in Seminole County. Witnesses reported the suspect vehicle hit a guardrail, lost a front wheel and continued driving, exiting I-4 and getting stuck at a construction site off Shell Road in DeBary. Deputies detained the driver, Eric Drewry (DOB 8/28/1978), who appeared to be under the influence. He resisted and kicked a deputy while being escorted into the back of a patrol vehicle. While being questioned by a trooper about the crash, Drewry responded "What crash?" While being transported to the hospital Drewry asked deputies multiple times to be released in exchange for $2,000. Instead, he was charged with resisting and battery on law enforcement by VSO, and DUI, leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, and refusal to submit to DUI testing (subsequent offense) by FHP.

The manner of death for the twins is unknown at this time, with no apparent signs of trauma, and is pending autopsy results. The investigation is open and ongoing at this time. #FloridaScanner

After learning the woman’s identity, deputies discovered she had 5-year-old twins, who were not located in the woman’s car or in the water. Deputies subsequently responded to her home address and found the two children, Ahmad and Ava Jackson, deceased inside the house.
