I have absolutely no empathy for people who “revert” to Islam in a free western country only to find out everything we talked about was accurate and act like a victim. She is afraid and she’s vulnerable and she’s in trouble, but I feel nothing for her. We talked about how violent and misogynistic Islam is at great risk to our lives and you still choose it, change your religion, wear that hijab and marry a Muslim man! You think your Islam and Muslim man will be the exception? Even that’s a cliche in Islam because all Muslims do. There’s a saying in Islam: “Not my Mohammed!” You think you’re better than us so this religion won’t do to you what it’s been doing to us for 14 centuries. And when you find out you aren’t special, you expect us to save you. I’m not even sorry if this sounds mean. I don’t care. We’re exhausted. You all are exhausting. Don’t “choose” what’s killing us, dehumanizing us, enslaving us, subjugating us. If you do, don’t expect any sympathy from me.
