For the record, it’s sheer madness for a president to contradict himself nearly every day in the middle of a war. It’s profoundly wrong that we can’t trust the veracity of a single thing that he says.

Tim Cook donated $1M to Trump’s inauguration. He fawned over Trump and gifted him a 24-karat gold plaque (as Apple lobbied for tariff exemptions). Apple donated to Trump’s ballroom. And it removed ICE tracking apps from its stores after a demand from the DOJ. Remember this.

I questioned Secretary Bessent about this clearly corrupt scheme to steal $10 billion from the American people. He didn’t seem to care. This is a slap in the face to taxpayers and the rule of law.
Melanie D'Arrigo@DarrigoMelanie

Trump is suing his own IRS for $10 billion — and he’s planning to settle it quickly to avoid going to court. To be clear: This is a scam to steal $10 billion from taxpayers, while Republicans scream about “fraud.”

If I am The Atlantic, I do not file motion to dismiss. I go straight to discovery and wait for summary judgment. Get Kash Patel on the record under oath. A lot of great content there by the way. Set a precedent that you will fight and you will seek to punish.
Roger Sollenberger@SollenbergerRC

The defamation lawsuit Kash Patel filed against The Atlantic contains this almost admirably absurd false claim: "Director Patel has not targeted political or personal adversaries" storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco…

The grift is baked in. Everyone knows it’s happening. With DOJ happy to ignore it, people seem to have adopted the attitude that nothing can be done. That’s not true, there are several options. And a different justice department in 2029 could go after this aggressively on day one, and should.

HUMILIATING GOP MELTDOWN CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Rand Paul just pulled the chair out from under Marco Rubio in the Senate hearing — and the hypocrisy exploded in real time. Rand drops the hammer: “If another country bombed our air defenses, captured and removed our President on U.S. soil… would THAT be okay?” Rubio freezes. He starts frantically erasing his notes, forgets how to breathe, and looks like a Trump sycophant who just realized he sold his soul for nothing. Rand reminds him point-blank: Congress declares war. Congress controls the checkbook. That Constitution you swore an oath to? GOP loves executive power when Trump’s doing regime change abroad. But flip the script? Suddenly it’s not so sexy. Rubio couldn’t even choke out “NO.” He couldn’t defend the endless foreign adventures he’s been selling for years. Our tax dollars. Their cowardice. This isn’t politics. This is a bought-and-paid-for senator auctioning off the Constitution for donor dinners and Fox News applause. GOP in power = rules for thee, but never for me.

let me make sure i’m understanding this correctly the supreme court is refunding all tariff money back to corporations. the same corporations that didn’t pay a single cent of those tariffs to begin with. they passed every dollar directly to you through higher prices on everything you buy you went to the store and paid more for groceries. you paid more for clothes. for car parts. for literally everything. that money came out of YOUR pocket not theirs and now the refund goes to THEM? the corporations who used the tariffs as an excuse to raise prices even higher than the tariff itself and pocket the difference the american people funded the tariffs. the corporations profited off the tariffs. and now the corporations get a refund on money they never spent in the first place and nobody in washington thinks the people who actually paid should get the money back. not a single person has even suggested it guess we are never getting our DOGE checks either this country does not work for you. it works for them. it’s a joke and they’re not even pretending anymore

This should be a much bigger story. The Trump administration is about to hand TotalEnergies, a French oil company, nearly $1 billion of your money to cancel its American offshore wind projects. And they are pulling the cash from an account they are not allowed to use this way. Here is how it works. The government has something called the Judgment Fund. Think of it as an emergency savings account for when the government loses a lawsuit or settles a real legal fight. It is not a checkbook the President can use whenever he feels like rewarding a company. To get around that rule, the administration is pretending TotalEnergies was about to sue. But TotalEnergies had no case. The company signed a contract in January 2025 with clear rules: the government cannot cancel these leases unless it first pauses the project for five years. The lease is less than four years old and was never paused. TotalEnergies agreed to those terms. There was no real lawsuit coming. So the administration invented a fake legal threat to justify raiding an account Congress controls. That matters because the Constitution says Congress, not the President, decides how taxpayer money gets spent. It gets worse. The White House claimed TotalEnergies would take the money and reinvest it in American oil and gas. The actual paperwork, now public, requires nothing of the kind. The company gets a billion dollars of taxpayer money and owes us nothing. So Americans are paying a foreign oil company to shut down clean energy projects here at home, using money that was never supposed to be spent this way, with zero strings attached. That is illegal, unethical, and a scandal hiding in plain sight.

A woman transporting rescue cats to their new homes had no choice but to put some in cargo. When the plane landed in Athens, Greece, she watched nervously through the window as luggage came down the ramp. Then she saw a baggage handler pick up each cat carrier slowly, crouch down, look inside, and gently talk to the animals one by one. He didn’t know anyone was watching. His name is Archie Ardales, 32, originally from the Philippines. When asked why he did it, he said the cats were probably scared because it was their first flight. He just wanted to comfort them.
