Sitting on the train to Dublin for a meeting with my editor to discuss the book I'm working on (due for release this autumn, will announce very soon), and there's a guy behind speaking on his phone in Irish, and another in front doing the same in an Indian language.

A large channel has been eroded in #ChesilBeach possibly a result of flooding. The scale of this feature is unusually large, providing a fascinating glimpse into the structure of Chesil Beach. It may naturally heal itself as the sea continues to move the shingle, time will tell.

There has provisionally been a new UK January daily max temperature record set today at Kinlochewe where the temperature reached 19.6°C
This beats the previous January UK record of 18.3°C set at Inchmarlo and Aboyne in 2003 and Aber in 1958 and 1971

I'm delighted to say the paperback edition of 'An Irish Atlantic Rainforest' will be released on the 15th of February.
Due out last May, the hardback was continuing to sell so strongly that the date was delayed by 9 months.
