I started getting paid to code when I was 17. It was 1998, and Google was just a few months old. I have built everything from a neural network based poker robot, to critical features of enterprise software used by the world's largest companies and hundreds of thousands of people. The team at xAI did something special with Grok. Just to onboard talent and agree on a direction can take months. Then you have false starts, and get to know each other. The entire software industry is a walking meme of missed deadlines. In front of me, I see a passionate hard working group of mission oriented maniacally focused builders at xAI. I wanted to share my observation with you, so that you might appreciate what you are watching. This is history changing, right before our eyes.
